1999 Baker to 'Vegas Race (B2V-99)

The Baker to 'Vegas Race Logo

The Orange County Amateur Radio Club provided 12 members to help provide the communications for the City of Orange Police Dept team competing in the 120-mile-long relay race.

A map of the 120-mile-long B2V relay race course. It contains 20 individual relay legs and starts outside of Baker, goes through the cities of Shoshone (Calif) and Pahrump (Nv), goes over the mountain at Mountain Springs and ends in Las Vegas

The antenna farm for the City of Orange communications center in Shoshone.   These radios were manned by Chris-KJ6ZH, and Bruce-KB6DLA.  Phil-N7PA and and E.H.-W6ECI provided communications in shuttle vehicals.

Tom-WA6PFA is the chief operator for the City of Orange comminications center in Pahrump, Nv.  Communications included 2-MTR FM, 440 FM. 2-MTR Packet, 2-MTR APRS, and 1200 ATV.

Bud, WA6VPP (left) is installing 144 and 440 radios in one of the shutlle vehicals of Orange PD (Team #108).  Marty (right), a member of the Orange PD logistic team,  is taking a picture.
