Another shift of 80M / 40M CW operators include Don-WD7P (L) and John-N6MU (R).

80M CW produced 359 QSOs and 40M CW racked up an amazing 910 QSOs.

On the top of the 100' tower was a double bazooka antenna for 80 Meters CW. In the middle at the 65' level was a 40M CW   2-element inverted-V Beam on a boom. On the bottom at the 40' level was double extended Zepp antenna for 40 Meters CW.

Arnie - N6HC takes a turn operating 15M CW station. Even though there were "zero sunspots" over the entire FD period, the 15M CW team racked up a record 381 CW QSOs.

The Band Captain for the 40M SSB station was Larry-K6YUI shown here taking a turn making contacts. Using a 40M 2-ele "inverted-Vee beam", 40M SSB racked up a record 830 QSOs.

We had tons of hot delicious pizza for a lunch break during the first few hours of the Field Day operation.

It was easy to find the YL station by the pink pirate flag. Who doesn't love pink and pirates, and of course the group of guys hanging outside the tent.

Chip-K7JA provided this 5-ele 15M beam for the 15M/75M SSB YL station. If you look carefully, you can see that the driven element is fed with open ladder-line cable.

Here is a classic Johnson Viking Match-Box antenna tuner that was at the bottom of 15M SSB beam ladder-line deed. The coax cable on the ground snakes over to the 15M SSB YL station tent.

The tent for the 20M SSB station is in the foreground and the club's 40-ft aluminum tower has a Force-12 3-element light-weight beam.

Flying from the tower are the "jolly roger", a white Heil Sound flag, and the red ARRL flag...

Kenan - N6CCE takes a turn operating the ICOM 7800 rig on 20M SSB.

Note the blue ear-phone jack box on the table that allows lots of people (inside the tent or outside in chairs) to listen in on the action and help pull stations out of the pile-ups.

Boy Scouts from BSA Troop 788 in nearby Redondo Beach came by to enjoy FD and to try to run up the score on 20M SSB.

Jim - N6DHZ (R) takes a turn operating 20M SSB while Ken - W6HHC makes sure that the log sheets are in good shape and provides an updated tally.

Dispite the "zero sunspot" conditions, the  20M SSB station produced an amazing 1285 QSOs.

This suave Band Captain for 20M SSB, Dan - N6PEQ, looks far too relaxed to be in the middle of a Field Day event.  But, he had organized a fine team for 20M SSB operators to allow him some time to socialize.
