W6ZE/AF6C checked in HHC, IXN, and OGO. IXN
learned that VPP will be the new editor of ‘RF’, and that HHC will continue as
webmaster for the Club web page. HHC got
AF6C’s technical article and is preparing it for the Newsletter. HHC explained
how he can now capture video frm the camcorder and transfer it to DVDs! OGO, using the rig mike tonite instead of the Heil
mike, had gud audio clarity, wid treble freqs. accentuated and base freqs. slightly
attenuated. HHC said the Club newsletter ought
to be up on the web page before Christmas.

- W6ZE/IXN checked in JD, UC, HHC, KFW, BSV, KTS,
and AF6C. JD & XYL enjoyed TG and the
grandharmonics at the harmonic’s home, and Lowell says
he’ll be hosting 14 people at their home fer Christmas.
JD reminded all OPs abt the Sat. Bfast at Cowgirls II, and Lowell said UC had FB
sigs! UC spent TG wid family in Riverside, got a tone
board fer the rig on the Internet, and said Christmas business at the store was abt the
same as last year. HHC had lots of fun wid 13
family members in the QTH at TG, and Ken said that one son & wife are in Puerto Rico, and his
youngest son is in Thailand, surfing on
the beach, on a two week business trip! KFW
said UEB’s sigs on the OCWN improved wid Rick’s new ant., and Chris & XYL
TG’d at the daughter’s home in Yorba Linda. BSV is attempting to make contact with the
International Space Station which now has two hams aboard!…uplink: 144.490,
downlink:145.800. And Carl says you can get
ISS pass times on the Internet. KTS kicked bk
on TG, doing sum cooking, watching football, and reading.
David will be at the Sat. Bfast. AF6C
turkey’d at home wid all the trimmings, got a ’lil bug after dinner, and
didn’t watch any football.

checked in IMW, KS6CW, KA6G, IB, RND, KFW, VDP, NT, and GVG. UEB reported broadcast QRM on freq. at Net’s
beginning, and Rick was using the 20 ft. vert. Ant., wid KA6G suggesting an increase in
length to ¼ wavelength. UEB said the cloudy,
rainy WX brought bk pleasant memories of Michigan outdoors! IMW had a FB weekend in the desert, lofting a vert.
Dipole up 120 ft. using helium-filled balloons! CW,
wid a ’lil rain at the QTH, heard all OPs weakly but UEB…Rick was 5NN. KA6G & hams are helping Anaheim PD collect
canned goods fer the needy. And IB, wid high
BC QRM, copied NCS solid. Casey enjoyed
meeting UEB over a cup of coffee, and IB took part in a Skywarn event wid the W6S crew in
the rain. RND, wid gud sigs on all, worked sum
QRP. And John is looking forward to the
harmonic’s visit frm Idaho. KFW worked several PSK31 stations on 20m in the
Contest yesterday, and while it’s raining, VDP will catch up on sum ham radio
projects. NT copied all OPs well thru the QRN,
and wid the rain, Ray is waiting fer the 1st army of weeds to invade the Hill! GVG, copying all OPs well in N. San Diego Cnty, is
glad to be bk frm rainy Sacramento.

checked in and 73d fer din-din. LDC had a
great TG in the desert wid the usual group, wid bad traffic on the way home late Sat.
nite. Tomorrow, Larry is off to Pechanga wid
the Elks, and Sun., it’s the Club Christmas Dinner!
Probably more work is in GZ’s future as his company’s CEO just
resigned. And GZ and AF6C briefly mentioned
the New Madrid EarthQuake. IXN recommended a
book, The Elegant Universe, for GZ’s interest in Strings. AF6C started Sun. & finished both Internet
& regular Christmas shopping today…(Gud feeling, isn’t it, Bob!?) And IXN agreed wid AF6C on the 100 amp service as
adequate fer Bob’s sister’s home bk East. IXN
told OPs abt his niece & husband’s break-in up in the San Jacinto Mts.!

W6ZE/AF6C checked in JD and AF6C…Seems that most OPs are out Christmas shopping! JD got the tree up and did sum shopping…Nw fer
the kids & grandkids at the QTH fer Christmas! AF6C’s
sister bought a new car to break in this winter in the ice & snow of New England, and, wid his
Christmas shopping all done, Bob will settle bk to read ‘Lord of the Rings’. IXN & JD briefly discussed their cholesterol
readings.

NCS/UEB checked in IMW, KS6CW, KFW, KA6G, VDP, OIO, RND, NT, and KF6HT, Homer. UEB already sent out two of his new QSL cards that
arrived during the week, and IMW got the IC-245 working…nw to cook up a tone
generator! And Ian noted that RND’s
Christmas tree, located beneath the ant, was radiating FB!…HI! CW finished her finals wid all gud grades, and KFW
was relishing the capture of Iraq’s Saddam
Hussein. KA6G agreed wid KFW’s sentiments
adding ‘well done’! Wid OK sigs at
the QTH on all, VDP plans sum shopping this week. OIO
will help a friend work an open house today at Rancho Los Cerritos, and RND will turn on
the TV to hear the news of Saddam’s capture! NT
is glad that the ‘college horse’ is coming home for Christmas break, otherwise,
all uis normal on the hill today. HKT said NCS
was fading too much to copy…He’ll check in agn nxt week.

flu, Christmas shopping, etc., is keeping OPs away frm the mike! IXN has managed to pick up the strain A flu bug frm
Lee (I think), and AF6C is preparing to get Christmas packages sent off to his
sister’s home come tomorrow, and Bob is doctoring fer sum type of intestinal bug!

KTS is doing sum APRS research, and David enjoyed the Club Christmas Dinner
at Marie Callendars. AF6C has eliminated the
possum nest in the Bouganvilla, and Bob, wid an intestinal bug, missed the Christmas
dinner. JD enjoyed his steak dinner and the
corn bread at the Christmas Club Dinner, and Lowell wished all a Merry Christmas & a
Happy New Year!

has strong sigs wid QRN on all OPs, and Kathy wishes all Happy Holidays. KA6G gives NCS a RST 579, wid Happy Holiday wishes
to all. If OPs experienced any difficulty
copying IMW, Ian had a problem keeping the cat off the key!…Merry Christmas! Wid 50 deg. temp., and clear WX, IB wished all a
Merry Christmas frm Loomis. Friday found OIO
up on the roof applying Henry’s to leaking skylights!…No water on the coffee
table this morning…YIPPEE!! RND had gud
copy on all…John is enjoying a visit frm his Idaho harmonic, then, on Wed., RND &
XYL are off to Salt Lake City to spend Christmas wid his 2nd harmonic…See
you all on SKN! KFW fell victim to a cold (or
the flu). But feeling much better nw, Chris
wished all a Merry Christmas. Watch red lights
in Costa Mesa very carefully…VDP said that new intersection cameras will catch red
light runners wid a $326 fine!…Then Larry wished OPs Happy Holidays! NT says that the ‘college’ horse and
owner are home fer Christmas, and wid gud sigs on all, Ray wishes OPs Happy Holidays. The Net fades in & out at HKT’s QTH in Torrance, but Homer
heard most OPs OK.

Net – NCS had
a noise level of S8, so Rick QSYd to 7137 KHz. NCS/UEB
checked in KS6CW, IMW, KFW, IB, KA6G, OIO, VDP, NT, and HKT. UEB hopes to hear all OPs on SKN New Year’s
Eve starting at 4PM…Rick and
family ventured up to Big Bear day after Christmas by way of Hwy 38 & Onyx Summit…They had
to put chains on at Onyx Summit (8443 ft elevation)! CW,
looking forward to SKN, wished all a HNY, and IMW, wid no cat on the key, found sum cheap
parts at TRW yesterday…HNY to all, and we’ll meet on SKN wid Jill & the cat! KFW, wid Christmas & all preparations gone in
the blink of an eye, wished all a HNY. And IB, wid best sigs ever frm NCS, planned to
drive to the SF Bay areas fer a meeting tomorrow morning.
KA6G, wishing all a HNY, reported an S5 noise level, but was able to copy
NCS. OIO, wid dry table but wet ceiling, was
back on the roof Friday…Stay tuned for continuing details on “Ann’s Affair
Aloft”! VDP will try to work SKN, and
Larry told NCS that he doesn’t run red lights in Costa Mesa, so VDP
doesn’t expect any troubles wid the cameras! NT
said that Santa must hve driven his sleigh thru the G5RV, so NT used the feedline fer a
top-loaded vertical…HI!…Ray wished all OPs a HNY.
HKT is logging all of his back contacts into the computer, a daunting task,
since all of his contacts were kept on scraps of paper!

Death in the family and flu put a damper on the holidays for IXN and Lee. AF6C, FMX, and IXN all discussed premonitions of
earthquakes before they happen, and AF6C said that any ‘holiday cheer’ that he
drinks will be at home. And AF6C said that his
niece felt her 1st earthquake while traveling in Richmond, VA. OPs wished all a HNY, and AF6C said the last
Christmas package arrived today.

alfalfa and hay, kicked bk to listen to the fireworks bombardment at Disneyland…Bob will
watch ‘the ball’ fall at midnight on TV! AF6C got the new Club officer badges made, and Bob
will help VPP wid Jan. ‘RF’.
