1/4/2012 10m Phone Net – With AF6C, busy on the landline for most of the Net, Corey, KE6YHX, jumped in as NC for this Net’s session.  YHX checked in WB6IXN, W6JTT, W6HHC, and AF6C near Net’s end.  YHX & family had an excellent Christmas vacation wid relatives in the Flagstaff while IXN and Lee did likewise in the San Jacinto Mts. in Garner Valley, CA.  IXN thanked YHX for 2m NC duty on Dec. 28.  JTT was able to work most of the Dec. 28 10m Net from his 5,000 ft perch in Idyllwild, CA, including HHC and YHX, to name a couple…JTT & IXN were both in the San Jacinto Mts.  HHC & OPs are beginning to plan communications for ‘Baker-to-Vegas’ in April. IXN said we may know if there is a Higgs Particle and Field by March!  HHC said that AF6CF discovered a virus infection on the Club website…All passwords have been changed and the virus removed!  AF6C checked into Net after his phone call.

1/4/2012 2m Phone Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN chcked in KJ6LHA, W6JTT, AF6CF, W6HHC, KE6YHX, KR6J, N8AE, and AF6C.  IXN & Lee ended up wid sore backs over Christmas vacation, and LHA enjoyed one of the family babies who uses excellent sign language!  JTT & OPs discussed possible changes in military operating frequencies…No directives yet for RACES or the ham bands!  CF is glad the Christmas season is over…Now Nicholas has to shed the extra pounds he added from all that good food!  KR6J’s XYL is working on her ham ticket, and Kenan said CAP might be affected by military band changes.   YHX enjoyed Christmas in Flagstqaff wid family, and, IXN & Lee, likewise, in the Garner Valley in the San Jacinto Mts.   YHX & IXN both await news on the Higgs particle from the LHC.  AE & UZE got back from their flights to & from Chicago for Christmas where they enjoyed family…Carl was glad to be back!...They were glad to have experienced only light snow on the trip.


1/11/2012 10m Phone Net – W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in KE6YHX, KB6DJZ, W6JTT, W6HHC, N6HC, N8AE, K6DNR, and WB6IXN.  IXN checked in late, having fallen asleep earlier.  DJZ might be t the Club Bfast Saturday, and Robbie experienced the quietest 10m Net ever tonight!  N8AE also intends to attend the Sat. morning Club Bfast and Board meeting.  N6HC is on tap to give a talk on the Christmas Is. DXpedition for the March Club meeting, and HC & HHC expound the valuable info. that can be found on both Hamnation, and, Craig’s List, including items you want to sell!  HHC said the Club audit was finished last Saturday. And IXN said there is a chance of rain come Sunday.  HC needs a projector for the March Club Meeting!  N8AE plans to attend the Club Bfast Saturday, and JTT heard all OPs FB tonite!  DNR is ‘keeping his head above the water, and Bob checked into the RACES Net tonite, and DNR has been working mostly 10m wid a ‘lil time spent on 20m.  AF6C checked into Net late last week after spending time on the landline almost the entire Net…AF6C thanked Corey for taking over NC duties.

1/11/2012 2m Phone Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in AF6CF, N8AE, W6JTT, KE6YHX, W6UX, KR6J, KJ6OML, W6HHC, AF6C, KJ6LHA, K6DNR, and KF6EVR.  CF could hardly hear KR6J tonite, and Nicholas has replaced the old antenna wid a new dipole ant., and CFF is experiencing hash on the rig from the power lines!   AE, playing on the computer, expects a light dusting of snow back in Michigan as Carl prepares tointroduce Winter Field Day to California! JTT discussed an old WWV Receiver, a donation by a British Patrolman.  YHX discussed DATV wid HHC, and Corey will learn more about soldering connectors to feedline come Sunday.  UX put up a new hex beam antenna, and congrats to Jeff on picking up his DXCC Certificate last week!  Last Sunday, the Sheriff activated RACES for fire watch, and Kenan was on duty from 10 am until 2 pm…K6RJ also discussed the W6IRD Repair Center on Hamnation. KF6EVR announced a need for communications help with the Feb. 4 & 5 Junior Tennis Tournament…Call Gene at 1-(714)-680-4258…(can’t read writing for sure!)  OML had hum on his signal making it hard to copy. HHC, LHA, and DNR all ‘flew in and flew out’.   AF6C & Bruce, DLA, repaired talking book machines at Braille Institute…Then Bob discussed the upcoming soldering class wid OPs…YHX asked to be added to the soldering class list.


1/18/2012 10m Phone Net – W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, W6HHC, W6UX, KB6CJZ, W6JTT, and WB6IXN.  AF6C is moving along wid plans for the soldering class wid YHX and UX showing interest!...AF6C will check to see if the Red Cross will permit soldering in their facility.  UX’s new antenna is doing well, but his sigs are causing AF interference on a neighbor’s audio speakers.  All OPs gave Jeff 5/9 sig reports so UX lowered the power from 100W to 40W still maintaining excellent sig reports!  JTT’s son, an engineer in the Army Reserve, will soon deploy to Afghanistan, and Sam continues working on antennas at the Idyllwild QTH.  CJZ, showing interest in soldering, gave Jeff a gud sig rpt on his new antenna.  IXN gave UX an S6 on his 40W sigs.

1/18/2012 2m Phone Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in N8UZE, KE6YHX, W6JTT, AF6CF, KR6J, W6UX, KF6EVX, W6HHC, AF6C, N8AE, and K6RBS, Richard, in Mission Viejo.  IXN, mistaking UZE’s words HOT TUB for HOSPITAL, momentarily put Carl in the hospital!...Dee quickly corrected IXN’s error.   Carl had been our fishing and was soaking his feet in the HOT TUB!  YHX is preparing for the upcoming soldering class.  JTT told OPs that antenna work at the Idyllwild QTH is not easy…The QTH rests on solid granite!  CF asked IXN if he handled OCA elections for 2012.  IXN said NO…The OCA Board decided to appoint a younger Charge of Elections.   Tim Goeppinger, Carl, and Kennan helped Jeff wid the new antenna, and UX said he heard all OPs well on 10m tonite!  Tim Goeppinger, Carl, and Kennan helped Jeff wid the new antenna, and UX said he heard all OPs well on 10m tonite!  HHC reminded all of the Club meeting Fri. eve., and Ken then talked wid OPs about ground rods.  KF6EVX once again told OPs that Gene Thorpe needs volunteer OPs to provide communications for the upcoming Tennis Tournament in Fullerton…Call Gene at 714-680-4258.  AF6C, eating late tonite, worked at Braille Institute this afternoon…Braille Institute could use repair help!...If you can help contact Bob, AF6C, on the Nets, or, at home!  AF6C’s sister will be here on Feb. 15 to visit their mother, and, celebrate Bob’s BD.


1/25/2012 10m Phone Net – W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, W6UX, KR6J (at Jeff’s QTH), WB6IXN, W6HHC, and AF6CF.  We hope YHX got a tight seal where he passed coax through the wall of the QTH!  UX & KR6J had a wonderful echo on their sigs at checkin…A change over to a boom mike from the HT solved the problem.  Congrats to GEP & UX placing 2nd in the recent Islands On The Air contest!  IXN reported gud sigs on all OPs, and HHC reported 4 major solar flares today which interrupted some communications!  HHC said the OCARC website rated within the top 15% in the nation!...Congrats to HHC & AF6C and contributors!  AF6CF ‘flew in and flew out’.  AF6C woke up a ’lil under the WX this morning but got better as the day progressed, and Bob felt better yet wid mom’s negative chest X-rays!

1/25/2012 2m Phone Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6LHA, W6JTT, W6GMU, KE6YHX, K6DNR, AF6CF, KI6TQM (Lee), KF6EVX, N2NCN, KG6WTQ…gud check-in, OPs!  LHA reported computer problems…power supply burned up!...Then Steve was off to din-din.  JTT tackled a garage cleanup, and, that his son was off to Afghanistan wid an engineer brigade…He speaks Afghan languages!  TQM, a former Club member, is located at Chapman & Cambridge in Old Town…Lee needs some advice on installation of a 1.2 GHz ant…AF6C gave Lee some advice, and, HHC could probably provide more!   KC6OML checked in wid strong sigs, and GMU, el Presidente, ‘flew in and flew out’.  EVX once agn announced the upcoming Tennis Tournament in Fullerton Jan 28 and 29, and, Feb 4 & 5…They still need volunteer OPs!...Call Gene Thorpe at 714-680-4258!   YHX, wid gud sigs, discussed soldering 259 co-ax connectors to RX-8 coax feedline wid AF6C, and IXN escaped NCN’s bent vertical in the last Santa Ana winds…IXN, wid N8AE’s help, had his broken guy lines fixed, beating the high winds by 2 days! DNR will check out his Club dues wid AF6C, and AF6C will attend OCA meetings when time permits. It was gud to hear Robert, KG6WTQ, check into Net agn! Club dues are due!...If possible, please pay dues by the March Club meeting!
