communications meeting last nite and Ken said that the Santa Ana Fire Dept. is now under
the control of the Orange County Fire Authority! YHX,
inventories all of his emergency supplies and equipment, and, Corey warned all OPs to
junp ahead one hour come Sunday nite. JTT
heard HHC & YHX S7, but the rest of us were down in the QRN! AE traveled home from work under a beautiful moon
tonite, and Carl will be up in the Sacramento area Thur., Fri., and Saturday. IXN will include AF6Cs Feb. Net Notes in the
March Netnews. UZE is trying to catch up on a
back log of QSL cards,including one from Djibouti.

Robert, EVX. KR6J is researching an internship
wid Orange County Communications, and JTT is experiencing high QRN at the QTH on
10m!...IXN suggested Sam use an AM radio to check for a noise source in the QTH and
surrounding neighborhood. AE will be working 6
days a week which will put a crimp in his wild life photography and hamming! UZE now gets AE off to bed early since Carl must
rise very early to get to work on time in the Chino area!
YHX must connect a grounding cable to a steel metal plate and is looking for
the best way to do this. AF6C suggested
changing Carls call name Always Eating to American Eagle
after viewing Carls FB collection of wildlife pictures! NC had to have KJ6RUDs(Charlie) info relayed,
for RUD just broke the squelch at IXNs QTH!...Charles is a Tech

K6DNR. AE got home a lil early from work
giving him time to check into Net
Carl told us he delivers printing press rollers and
other heavy items for his company, and his heavy work schedule forced him to resign as V.
Pres. Of the Club. UZE will be guest speaker
for the April Club meeting, speaking on on The Logbook of the World
And
Dee works for Fisker Karma making plush automobiles for high-end clientele. AF6C got bids to replace a termite-infested fence
gate and Bob told OPs the soldering kits came in yesterday for the upcoming soldering
class. UX announce chaotic DX conditions due
to numerous sunspots activity, but Jeff said 20m was open last nite
UX also suggested
AE drive out thru Live Oak Canyon for a pleasant nature trip. YHX lost, and replaced, some 2KO resistors for the
WX station, and Corey gave S-meter sig reports to all OPs.
IXN doesnt think much of the 1-2 inch rain report for the weekend, and
HHC comments briefly on AEs heavy work week, and, Dee comments to Ken that the
electric vehicles she works on are very, every quiet-running. We are all looking forward to HCs upcoming
presentation on the recent Kiribati DXpedition at March Club meeting, and, Arnie is busy
preparing the hill back of the QTH for fire inspection!
JTT was down in the QRN at IXNs QTH, and DNR, switching to the other
antenna, looks forward to Arnies presentation on the Kiribati DXpedition come Friday
nite!

problem at the Candy Store, and UJA received congrats from OPs on her new Tech
license. DNR is busy working on some American
Legion stuff, and, reading the mail. UX, GEP,
KR6J, and others are preparing for the Anacapa Island DXpedition come July, and, Jeff
recently worked a midwest station on 100 mw! YHX
looks forward to the soldering class, and, he and IXN briefly discussed the 6.8 earthquake
off the coast of Japan. EVX once again
announced a need for 35 communications OPs for the Donate for Life event

N8AE. AF6C, wid a lil cough at Nets
beginning, worked on book machine repairs at Braille Institute today, and Bob & YHX
discussed soldering lugs for grounding. JTT,
down in the QRN at IXN and HHC QTHs, and HC reporting hum on Sams sigs, was using
the dipole ant. Tonite. HHC & IXN enjoyed
HCs talk on the Christmas Island DXpedition at Club meeting last Fri. eve., and HHC
or AF6C may have the coax connector that HC is looking for. HHC & AF6C briefly
discussed a dice game that challenged OPs are solving, and, IXN read a small article from
Sirius Astronomer on the extension of black matter between galaxies. YCJ, away from the Net for awhile, is now off Tue.
& Wed. eves., so Ken will once again join us frm the QTH & Angel Stadium reporting
on Angel games and the fairer sex
and the 25 mil player Robert Pulholz. All OPs
at Club meeting thoroughly enjoyed HCs presentation on the Christmas Island
DXpedition, and Arnie said that he has many more DXpedition stories he didnt even
mention! IXN & YHX briefly mentioned the
7.4 EQ that took place near the Oxaca/Guerrero border abt 60 mi from Acapulco where
President Obamas daughter was on Spring Break! DNR,
taking care of personal business tonite, flew in and flew out. KJ6NGF(Ted), a new Club member from Orange, was
welcomed to the Net by OPs! AE got home at
6:30 pm, joined us on the Net, got more QSL cards last weekend, will not be on 2m tonite,
but will be in the hot-tub!

2m Phone Net WB6IXN checked in KE6YHX, W6JTT, KJ6LHA, K6DNR, and KR6J. YHX and IXN briefly discussed the 7.4 EQ in Mexico,
and, all OPs had strong sigs tonite. On 10m,
Corey gave all OPs their sig strengths tonite. YHX
reported hearing strong Rayleigh waves from the Mexican quake at the QTH! JTT & IXN discussed weak sigs on 10m
Sam
was on the dipole ant., and IXN is vertically polarized on the vertical accounting for
part of the weak sigs. LHA, enjoying the nice
WX, was kicked back listening to the Net, and DNR, previously on the RACES Net, joined us
near Nets end. KR6J, no cycling until
December, is busy wid school and working on an internship, installing a radio in the
truck, and a possible presentation to the Club.

And Jeff made at least 860 contacts in the WPX Contest last weekend. IXN congrats YHX on monitoring the OC Wireless Net
last Sunday morning, and AF6C left 6 Talking Book unit unrepaired, and 8 Units repaired
after volunteering at Braille Institute today, and, after Bobs next Heathkit article
in the Newsletter, hell pose a Heathkit question for DNR to answer! HHC & AF6C briefly discussed a Treasurers
report for the Newsletter, and HHC talked about an interesting antenna for UHF, a panel
antenna wid 6 four way loops of wire and a reflector behind it
Ken plans a future
article on this antenna! DNR joined us after
the RACES Net and kicked back to listen to the Net.

JTT, all wid colds at the QTH, cudnt hear OPs on 10m over the ambient noise level,
and, family members are packing parachutes for a Teddy Bear drop in the northern provinces
of Afghanistan! KR6J, glad to be on Spring
break, is still working on an internship wid sheriff dept. communications, and Kenan
ponders giving a future talk to the Club on HF mobile installation. DNR and IXN briefly discuss cleaning up the shack,
and, LHAs daughter, Kimberly, is down wid the flu so Ping is down in Seal Beach
helping Kimberly wid chores! CF hears DX
station KR6J well tonite, and IXN tells CF & GMU to check out Dark Matter blurp in
their Serious Astronomer Newsletter. UX works
unique prefixes, DX, as the bands continue to stay open for longer periods of time! GMU copied all OPs but Kenan, got N. Cook & S.
Cook Islands DX. Tbe OCARC needs a new Club Vice President to replace N8AE who just
got a new job that interferres with his time.!
