Phone Net – W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, KJ6VKF, WB6IXN, and W6JTT. AF6C asked YHX & IXN about a ‘boom’
that shook the QTH early last Sunday morning IXN reported no EQ event heard by San
Sevaine Seismometer AF6C attended a follow-up meeting, wid HHC, on
Baker-to-Vegas race communications effort by COAR RACES.
VKF checked in a bit low in frequency at 28.373 MHz on the Kenwood TS-2000
rig and then came up on Net frequency of 28.375 MHz…Dennis was also on 2m Net last
week. IXN & AF6C briefly discuss termites that both are fighting presently.
JTT suspects broadband over power lines causing QRN on the band at his QTH!

Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KE6YHX, W6,JTT, KR6J, AF6C, KJ6LHA, and
KJ6UJA. JTT and YHX discussed the ‘Mr.
Slim’ Air-conditioners (by Mitsubishi) that both own…Corey now has his new air
conditioner installed and awaits the hot WX. IXN asks YHX to be NC fer 2m next week
when Bob goes visiting his niece. KR6J, abt 4
weeks of school left, enjoyed taking over raffle duties at last Club meeting,and, wid the
XYL pregnant and also working on her Tech license....things are going to get interesting
at the KR6J QTH! AF6C congrats Kenan on the
upcoming addition to the family, and, the XYL working on her Tech license!...And Bob has a
large bag of N-connectors available for OPs who need them…Contact Bob. LHA & UJA’s daughter, Kimberly, and family
are visiting in China and Cambodia, etc….UJA is a manager at UPS.

– W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, WB6IXN, W6UX, KJ6VKF, K6DNR, N6HC, and W6SQC(Cass). YHX continues work on the lightning grounding
system at the shack, and, Corey will NC the 2m Net tonite.
IXN gave the time beginning, middle, and ending times for Sunday’s
partial annular eclipse. Jeff UX, working wid the XYL preparing resumes, etc., has
spent little time DXing recently. Jeff will attend the Club Bfast come Saturday. VKF, wid QRN at the shack, will not be on the 2m
Net tonite, and AF6C, working alone at Braille Institute, serviced 24 talking book
machines today!...Gud work, Bob! DNR checked into Net
after the RACES Net, and Bob plans to attend Club meeting and the Club Bfast come Sat.

checked into Net mobile on his way home frm a 12 hr work day, and IXN repeated annular
eclipse times for Sunday, May 20. LHA &
UJA “flew in and flew out”. JTT got the ICOM rig repaired by John in La
Habra, replacing a bad meter, and, locating an open in the microphone circuit. DNR “flew in and flew out”.
GMU TNXed IXN fer the solar eclipse info, and, Paul mentioned lots of QRN,
from sunspots, on the 10 & 12 meter bands. CGM,
Don, in Westminster, “flew in and flew out”.
OML put up a J-pole ant. fer 2m, but Gene could not make contact tonite on
10m! UZE will soon run an inventory of
available Field Day equipment!

K6DNR, W6JTT, and KJ6OML. IXN asked about a
good source of workmen to do home repair services. HHC
& Diane suggested Bob check out ‘The Final Result’ at 714-628-1225. YHX, wid aluminum plate installed, continues
crimping cable for the lightning grounding project at the shack. HHC will present a DATV program at the Club meeting
Friday evening, and, will electronically communicate the same program to the Dayton
Hamvention! AF6C tangles himself in a lamp
cord, tripping & falling on the coffee table in the QTH…Wid the coffee table
smashed, Bob escapes serious injury! And Bob
reminds all to sign up for FD activities! DNR
has weak sigs at the shack on the receiver, but transmit sigs FB…Might be a receiver
problem. JTT, wid gud copy on all, also had
gud reception on 10m tonite. OML had vy weak
sigs at IXN’s QTH on 10m. AF6C welcomes K6DLA & AF6CF back from vacations.

2m Phone Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in K6DNR, KJ6LHA and KJ6UJA, W6JTT,
KJ6OML, KG6OXD, KE6YHX, W6HHC, AF6CF, KJ6VKF, KF6EVX, N8AE, and KR6J. DNR, got the rig back from repair but there is a
high unknown QRN at the shack! LHA & UJA

continues work on the discone ant, and Sam works at reconfiguring the EICOM rig. OML, wid gud sigs, is using a j-pole ant. HHC reminds OPs to answer there email concerning
how many meals they will consume at Field Day! We
plan to eyeball wid Vern, OXD, when he appears at Club meeting…Club member Vern
checked into the 2m Net for the 1st time! YHX
updated OPs on the lightning ground system at the QTH, and HHC welcomes AF6CF and KC6DLA
back from vacations. CF & GMU missed a
good talk at the Orange County Astronomers meeting on Albert Einstein’s contributions
to the radiant energy field…IXN has info on the speaker and we might get him to come
to an OCARC meeting!

Phone Net – Wid AF6C off to pick up his sister at the airport, KE6YHX,
Corey, assumed NC duties. Corey checked in
WB6IXN, W6HHC, KR6J, KJ6VKF, N6HC, and W6JTT. IXN
& YHX briefly discussed increasing seismic activity in the southland, and wid QRN on
the band, VKF checked in wid sigs nearly down in the QRN!
HHC was putting selected photographs of Baker-to- Vegas up on the website. VKF will continue work on the dipole ant., and YHX
has registered fer Fall classes, plus Corey has run the feedlines through a polyphaser. KR6J/6, mobile, almost has the mobile installation
completed, and Kenan gives NC a 5/9 sig report! HC
relayed VKF’s relayed VKF’s QSOs fer the rest of the Net, and Arnie gets ready
fer relative guests from No. CA. HC laudes YHX
on low electrolytes diagnosis fer overheated Baker-to-Vegas runners. JTT gives HHC a
strong sig rpt tonite, and Sam and neighbors are experiencing landline problems wid the
phone service.

and N8AE/m. YHX & IXN briefly discuss the
new ARRL on line version of QST magazine, and VKF, wid strong 2m sigs, will work to
improve sig strength on 10m. And Steve, LHA,
praised his two new WOUXUN Chinese HTs, 2m/440 rigs, can possibly get in 2m/220 model, fer
100 bucks/rig! Carl, N8AE, checked in mobile
near the Imperial Highway after visiting another CA Park near Ventura, and JTT still works
wid the EICOM 718 to improve its performance.

checked in KJ6VKF, WB6IXN, N8UZE, W6HHC, K6CCD, KE6YHX, and K6DNR. VKF, not watching the hockey (Kings) playoff game,
said all OPs were weak at his QTH tonite as Dennis kicked back to monitor the Net. IXN said AF6C should check out suspicious
characters, who claimed to be ‘re-possessors’, looking in car windows &
trying doors, wid the Orange PD! UZE plans to
be at the upcoming Board meeting to finalize some FD plans, and HHC received gud news from
G4GO in England regarding DATV circuit board progress, and Ken said the old Club generator
& trailer found a new home! CCD, back from
his trip, ‘flew in & flew out’ getting the call fer ‘din-din’. Wid his sister back home on the East coast, AF6C
plans to check out the Club generator making any repairs before Field Day, and YHX has the
AC working well in the shack as he prepares for the heat of summer, and, Corey has all
cables for the lightning project thru the wall, and DNR, chacking in from the RACES Net,
kicked back to listen to the rest of the 10 meter Net.

checked in K6DNR, KJ6LHA, AF6C, KJ6UJA, W6JTT, KJ6VKF, and KE6YHX. DNR hears all OPs tonite as does NC. LHA checks out generators listed in the June issue
of QST magazine. AF6C enjoyed his sister’s
visit from back East, and Bob said the Kings won their playoff game in overtime. UJA says to check out ‘New Adventure’
across from Disneyland. JTT suffered damage to
his discone ant. wid vy slight loss to his sigs. VKF, using his ‘Home Depot’
ant, had a wee bit of static on his sigs. YHX
will enjoy the new air conditioner in the shack this summer, and Corey will soon register
fer Fall Classes.
