YHX starts school again at the end of the month, and IXN will try to find his old calculus book for Corey. JTT ended up wid 8 in. of snow in Idyllwild but did install sum new equipment, picked up an EICOM for the shack, and, is glad his son is out of Afghanistan! AE thoroughly enjoys photography saying it is a great hobby as Carl places photographs of wildlife on SpaceBook. It was great to hear Ping’s strong voice back on the Net after her bout wid colon cancer, and LHA was glad to have UJA back in the shack! OML plans to leave in the motorhome Fri, night for R&R in Florida, and Kirk, WB6EGR, checked into Net from Rancho Verdes. Also, John, KJ6UJT checked in from Tustin. And Bob, AF6C, will bring a weed from the yard to IXN at next Club meeting…IXN thinks the same weed is growing in his yard!

IXN warned OPs abt a very cold nite and day ahead, and AF6C & Bruce worked on Talking Book machines at Braille Institute today…Tomorrow Bob & his neighbor will race to see who can take Christmas lites down first! OPs welcome Greg, W6ATB, in Orange, to the Net…Greg plans to attend the Club Bfast come Saturday. HHC and CORE RACES OPs met to begin plans for the Baker-to-Vegas Run this spring, and, Ken, beginning work on a new DATV board, has a design meeting this weekend. YHX checked in, left the Net, but came back later, and DNR, down wid the flu, had 5/9 sigs at IXN’s QTH tonite. JTT got the new rig up & running wid FB sigs…Ham work held up at Idyllwild by ‘white stuff’ on the ground! And, there’s going to be a new washer & dryer installed soon at the AF6C QTH!

JTT is enjoying his son’s return from Afghanistan, and is glad the 300 lb. deer statue has been moved to the front yard at the Idyllwild QTH! LHA is not looking forward to 20 deg. WX by Saturday, and UJA, doing well, is limited to lifting no more than 5 lbs. after recent abdominal surgery. IXN apologizes for skipping NBV’s comments…He was unable to understand EVX’s comments regarding the upcoming tennis tournament in Fullerton, and in the interim, IXN failed to ask for comments from Steve!

AF6C also said that Club archives are up on the website! IXN said that asteroid Toutatis approached Earth orbit about 8 moon distances on Dec. 12, 2012. YHX joined AF6C in buying a new water heater, and OPs gave congrats to Corey on his 1st article on grounding and lightning protection of ham radio installations. IXN said hard copies of old RFs are scanty in the Club History (1953-1975), and, HHC said that the 2nd prototype of a DATV Board is ready to go!...And Ken, any chance of getting the OP wid the 160m mobile installation to bring it to a Club meeting for our inspection? And HC congrats YHX on the station grounding article in the Newsletter, and, Arnie teaches an OP how to use ‘Log Book of the World’. DNR, still wid high QRN, is back on the G5RV, and we hope to see Bob at Club meeting come Friday. ATB, getting directions to the Red Cross in Santa Ana, plans to be at Club meeting Friday evening.

JTT, his son back from Afghanistan, had another set of hands to help work on a discone antenna, and LHA got the 1500W linear amplifier up and running. KJ6RUI, Charles, in Anaheim, ‘flew in and flew out’, and YHX ventures into bread making as he also assembles a mobile rig. IXN recounts his former ‘Zoji-Rushi’ bread making days, and, IXN & AF6C both have ancient laundry sinks that are very useful! UJA is revering nicely from recent surgery, and ATB checks out his backup batteries. WX will be excellent for OXD’s planned family camping trip this weekend honoring his 90 yr old mom! And HC & AF6C briefly discuss cleaning and refurbishing Bob’s old laundry sink.

AF6C, wid aq head cold, had HHC handle NC duties tonite. N8AE enjoyed the Club program on lightning grounding last Friday evening, and HHC is looking forward to Field Day meeting come Friday evening, commented on YHX’s article on station grounding, and no bends in grounding cable greater than 90◦. JTT was on the dipole ant. tonite and is in the process of upgrading the station. AF6C mentioned YHX’s slight break in transmission, probably in mike cord, and Bob said ‘lights dimmed’ when NGO talked on phone! ATB said IXN’s sigs were weaker tonite, and Greg likes to experiment wid antennas, putting up a new beam sometime this year. NBV wishes all a HNY from Mission Viejo, and Steve uses a 33 in. magnetic antenna. YHX is busy checking out his Emergency Pack.
