– W6ZE/W6HHC checked in KE6YHX, WB6IXN, KJ6OML, W6JTT, W6HK (Ken), KJ6YC(Ron), and
KE6OFK(David). Ken took NC duties as AF6C is
entertaining his sister, in from the East Coast. HHC
got the DATV-Express prototype board working on LINUX, and Ken plans to be at the Watson
RC bfast come Friday. YHX continues working
with programming the XT 40 controller. HHC says the OCARC ended up wid 21,000+
points for the Field Day Contest!...Congrats, OPs!!
IXN read a blurp confirming the existence of gravitational waves…Now, we must detect
them! IXN copied OML Q5 at the QTH tonite, but
Gene cud not copy IXN! JTT, checking into Net
from the QTH in the San Jacinto Mts near Idyllwild, was barely above the QRN at IXN’s
QTH. Ken, W6HK, an officer in OC RACES, was a welcome visitor at FD!...Ken also reported
on Ron’s check-in from Oregon…IXN cud not confirm Ron’s call KJ6YC, in
Oregon. (May have copied the call wrong!) David, KE6OPK, in Cerritos, was loud and
clear.

check-ins were heard! ( All gone on vacation for the 4th!) Gene and DLA cleaned off the shelves of Talking
Book Machines at Braille today. AF6C was busy
entertaining his sister from back East!

– W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, K6LDC,
KJ6OML, WB6IXN, W6HHC, W6ATB, N6HC, and WØMEC. AF6C
got his sister on the plane for her flight home…For Bob’s birthday, they enjoyed
an Angel Game! YHX continues work on several
projects, plus doing some fence mending…And Corey will meet HHC on Sunday afternoon
to test PSK-31. LDC and AF6C discuss the
landing crash at San Francisco Airport as Larry plans to get his antennas back up fairly
soon. OML and DLA cleaned off the shelves of
Talking Book machines, and Gene had strong sigs at IXN’s QTH 2nd time
around. IXN had an infected tooth pulled
today. AF6C and sister enjoyed HHC’s
patio last Saturday. ATB checked into
Net wid weak sigs on the 6m beam! N6HC checked
in to say “HI”. MEC, Clem, was down
in the QRN at IXN’s QTH.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, KE6YHX, and N6NBV. IXN
still has a wee bit of pain from the tooth extraction, and OML was a ’lil late
reporting to Braille Institute today…Gene overslept!
YHX was busy the 4th protecting his ‘kitty’ from the
booms & bangs of the fireworks in the ‘war zone’!...Now Corey will
investigate op-amps as he continues work on a seismometer.
NBV had strong sigs from San Clemente at check-in.

W6HK(Ken). IXN reported 82 deg. at the QTH
tonite, and Bob cud not copy Clem’s 8 ½ W. out.
JTT cud not copy NC, but MEC relayed info for Sam. YHX & HHC communicated successfully on PSK-31
last Sunday afternoon after Ken turned some ‘rusty memory wheels’ on PSK
operations. IXN copied JTT & DNR, rig down
to the Yaesu Doc, expects to pick it up tomorrow. HHC
and Diane are off to Alaska Fri. morning and Ken reminded OPs abt Club meeting Friday. HK checked in near Net’s end and Ken is
planning a cruise around Newport Bay…HK will eyeball wid OPs at Club meeting Fri.

continues therapy for a sore back! We all hope
Sam’s mountain QTH avoids the ‘Mountain Fire’ burning in the San Jacinto
Mts.!

programming, and JTT hopes to escape damage from the ‘Mountain Fire’ abt 20%
contained at present, and Sam is playing wid an old ARC-5 rig on 160m! The Triumvirate, AF6C, OML, and DLA, serviced four
Talking Book machines at Braille Institute today, and, AF6C talked about charging the
Nickel Metal Hydride batteries in these machines…Tnx, guys! IXN reported a temp. of 82 deg. outside the QTH in Santa
Ana. IXN’s niece, husband, & horses
are presently outside the fire lines in the San Bernardino National Forest.

YHX continues work programming a controller, tries out his plumbing skills
on an errant drain trap, finishes learning the binomial theorem, and told OPs he read
Feynman’s Autobiography. AF6C has read
two or three of Feynman’s books, continues physical therapy for his aching back, and
continues researching an old Heathkit AM2 SWR meter reflectometer. IXN briefly mentions Feynman Diagrams importance in
particle physics, and Bob says it’s 73 deg. outside the QTH, and 78 deg. in the
house. AF6C has a new badge for KJ6QZO, June. OML set up a ’lil early at Braille Institute
to be joined by AF6C and DLA a bit later…They spent most of the time charging
batteries for Talking Book Machines.

is enjoying a book “Teach Yourself Calculus” as he prepares to enroll in both
differential and integral calculus courses in the future…And Corey tells IXN to check
out “Mechanical Unverse” on the CPD website.
OML says QZO is enjoying her flowers and IXN joins June in that respect! IXN had terrific flower beds this year!

W6ATB, and KE6YHX. MEC was down in the QRN at
IXN’s QTH but he and NC discussed briefly Clem’s corn patch. UG(june)’s sister will visit before
June’s sister & husband go on a trip to Australia.
DLA,AF6C, and OML finished servicing Talking Book machines at Braille Institute by
10:00 am today, and Bob will send HHC’s Alaska pix to Bruce and Gene. Wid only 70deg. outside the QTH tonite, IXN
managed to poke himself in the eye wid a dead zinnia stem while weeding in the garden,
and, Bob is nursing a sore gum as he continues preparation for a bridge implant. OML said the triumvirate drank a lost of coffee as
they cleaned off the shelves at Braille Institute, and, HHC and Diane, just back from
Alaska today, checked in briefly to say they had a great time going up the ‘inside
passage’, watching whales devour herring, seeing caribou, visiting Denali State Park,
plus much, much more! HC congrats HHC on a
published DATV article in QST, worked on the ‘back forty’ for most of the day,
and is off to strech out on the couch! NGF(Tim)
was down in the QRN at IXN’s QTH tonite. DNR
‘flew in & flew out’. ATB wanted
to know if Ken & Diane saw the Northern Lights on their Alaska trip. YHX and Dad are re-roofing the QTH.

– W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KE6YHX, W6JTT, KJ6OML, KG6OXD, W6ATB, and KG6UG. YHX and Dad have 2 layers of felt down on the new roof, and Corey finished programming 3 routines for the Controller. JTT come out ‘smelling like a rose’ in the late Mountain Fire…The flames came close but did not damage the mountain QTH!...And Sam cud hear NC in Santa Ana last 2m Net, but NC cud not hear him (near Idyllwild). OML said ‘the triumvirate’(OML, AF6C, and DLA) had a gud servicing day wid lots of coffee drinking at Braille Institute today. OXD helped raise a ham tower and does paper work in preparation for a trip in two weeks. ATB was busy wid family, and, repairing slot robots for the P.D. UG, busy, ‘flew in and flew out’!
