AF6C, no Braille Institute today, got his new computer delivered on Saturday when an aftershock of the 5.1 EQ occurred! OML and DLA serviced 10 new machines and 7 old ones at Braille Institute today, and, Gene will remember sitting on the edge of the couch when the 5.1 struck! JTT ‘flew in and flew out’…Sam was down in the QRN at IXN’s QTH, and, JTT did not return on NC’s 2nd call. HHC questions ATB about his new amplifier, and Ken told the story about a Baker-to-Vegas runner who fell over a low bridge wall in the dark who ended up wid only minor scrapes after hi 8 ft. fall! IXN talked about the 5.1 EQ in La Habra Heights, and IXN cudn’t hear Clem, MEC, in the QRN. YHX is preparing for another calculus test tomorrow…Gud luck, Corey!

YHX gets an ‘or gate’ controller to manage proper operation of the solar power-battery-rig combination. YCJ checked into net from high in the bleachers at Angel Stadium…The Angels were losing! JTT awaits the return of his son before he continues antenna installation, and, Sam was relaxing wid the house pets when the 5.1 temblor struck! IXN completed taxes about 2 weeks ahead of AF6C, and Bob said that, during the earthquake, the mirror over the fireplace slammed against the fireplace bricks but did not break. PKA checked in wid gud sigs as IXN finally got his call right! IXN and FYG wishes there was a way to predict earthquakes, and OXD was attending a Lodge meeting when the EQ struck! UG and IXN discussed their roses and fast developing Spring flowers.

YHX replaced a defective solar panel and now all is well wid the solar energy installation. IXN had a temp of 80 deg. outside the QTH tonite and HHC registered 92 deg. at the QTH today as Ken contemplates calling City of Orange about an errant street that alternates between on and off constantly causing QRN on the rig! And HHC, AF6C, ATB, and IXN all have finished their taxes! And ATB is off to Bend, OR, this weekend to attend his mom’s funeral. UG & IXN discuss their gardens and plants, and OML tells OPs about a broken talking book machine with a broken case that they had to dismantle at Braille Institute today. And EVX once agn called for an upcoming charity event Apr. 26 in Fullerton. AF6C ‘flew in & flew out’ as IXN & PKA had a long discussion abt particle physics. FYG, Mike, reported that 10m has been open mornings, and IXN said the 10m Net has been receiving DX too!

IXN told OPs that WA6RND’s XYL, Girty, had a massive stroke & is in the hospital. YHX is very happy wid the new solar installation…It has more than enough power to operate his equipment!...Corey also has battery backup power. N6HC hasn’t been on the air lately…Arnie’s been busy wid other things…Arnie will be the main speaker at the Club meeting in July. ATB, wid granddaughter on lap, and back from a short visit in Oregon, came back wid a cold. OML gave a short rundown of work completed by the Triumvirate AF6C, K6DLA, and KJ6OML, at Braille Institute today, and N6HC offered a few repair solutions for OML’s ‘broken chain’. AF6C told DNR there will be a Field Day planning meeting a week from Friday, and UG, hoping the cat won’t wind up in a new fan, joined us wid FB sigs.

DNR, like IXN, is interested in preserving their CW skills, and, IXN once agn told OPs abt the CW net on 7.086 MHz Sunday morning at 9:00 am local time. IXN cud not read his notes on FYG’s work at home…Anyway, his work saved him abt $200 bucks! NBV has been interested in things electronic since the ’50s.

IXN sigs were down tonite & OML didn’t hear Bob too well. IXN had high noise at the QTH tonite, and HHC announces at Field Day meeting at Bob Harrington’s QTH come Friday eve. OML and OPs serviced a few Talking Book machines at Braille today…Tnx, guys! IXN has not heard any more news on Girty Dawson’s health…Girty is the XYL of John Dawson, WA6RND, club member a few years ago. John will operate QRP CW on 7.086 MHz sometime in the future. Ann, KE6OIO, is now NC on the OCWN Sundays at 9:00 am local time. HC, chasing W1AW stations in New Jersey & New Hampshire, hasn’t been on the air much during the past week…He had visitors from the UK who left today. Arnie will be at the FD meeting Friday nite, and Arnie and other CW OPs will handle CW chores at Field Day…Tnx, Arnie! And Arnie Plans to go to the Dayton Hamvention in May.

The triumvirate, AF6C, DLA, and OML all ‘played hookie’ at Braille Institute today…They’re waiting for more ailing book machines to come in! YHX still had 5 homework problems to complete in his calculus assignment and Corey was down in the QRN at IXN’s QTH tonite. ATB was babysitting a fussy granddaughter tonite and so far the high winds have not affected the radio station! Most OPs could not hear IXN in the high QRN tonite, and HHC and OPs talked briefly about the large Cucamonga Fire. Arnie & OPs briefly discussed logging programs for Field Day and Arnie expressed the need for doing away with handwritten logs! And, Arnie will have an upcoming program for the San Diego DX Convention come September! HC said we ought to give raffle tickets for Net checkins!

OML was ‘under the WX’ over the weekend so no OPs ventured out in the winds to go to Braille Institute today…And UG and IXN talked about wind damage to garden plants. By Net’s end, YHX only had 3 calculus areas & volume homework problems to complete! AF6C resurrected an old MacIntosh computer and got it working…Now, to continue its preservation in the closet! IXN talked about a distant yellow star (our sun is a yellow star) much larger than our sun. And, we heard JTT for the 1st time from the San Jacinto Mts. on 2m!...So the new antenna is working FB!
