W6ZE/AF6C checked in WØMEC, KE6YHX, W6UX, WB6IXN, KJ6OML, and W6HHC. MEC was busy over Christmas, and Clem said it was 25 below at his brother’s QTH in Minnesota! And AF6C said it was 2 deg. Above 0 in Massachusetts. YHX got the 80m ant. Repaired, and, it was gud to hear Jeff, W6UX, back on the Net once again!...And Jeff, building an amplifier, will see us for an eyeball at Club meetings. UX is also planning a chimney mounted 6m ant. in the near future. OML & AF6C serviced 28 Talking Book Machines at Braille Institute today, and, DLA was at the doctors. HHC said OCARC books are all balanced (wid .10 cents left over!...And HHC has a new DATV receiver wid 4 different protocols! And IXN reported -50 deg. Temps. In the Midwest!

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KE6YHX, KI6LXZ, KK6FYG, W6UX, KJ6OML, W6ETC, W6JTT, KF6EVX, and AF6CF. IXN cudn’t remember Robert’s call and had to look it up. No school for YHX next semester, and Corey is glad to have the 80m dipole back up. LXZ had a gud Christmas and gud sigs tonite, and FYG was glad to have the Holidays off. OML joined IXn wid a terrible cold over the Holidays, and Gene gave the Braille report. IXN cudn’t remember Robert’s call, KF6EVX, and had to look it up!...Robert lives in Anaheim. IXN and ETC discussed Club historical record, etc., and Tom wants dieas for programs at future Club meetings. JTT continues working on antennas in the valley and in the mountains…His sigs are continuously improving! EVX announced another call for volunteer hams, and IXN misplaced Robert’s notes!

And OML said the Triumvirate, OML, AF6C, and DLA serviced Talking Book machines at Braille Institute today. IXN copied MEC S5 tonite, and Bob gave info. On comet Philae Lander. HHC handed over Club Treasurer Records to Atb, Greg, and Ken talked abt new narrow band DATV in England. Then Ken alerted OPs to the upcoming Baker-to-Vegas Run in March, the first meeting was last Tuesday! JTT reported gud sigs on all tonite, and HC is looking forward to Club meeting Friday eve. DNR checked in on the old vertical and switched to the G5RV ant., and YHX put an older Apple computer in the home Emergency Shelter.

JKA was using 5W in HB tonite, and YHX, wid computer communications in the Emergency Shelter, continues to upgrade emergency preparedness at the QTH. SYG amd IXN reported on the position of Comet Lovejoy which will reach perihelion around Feb. 15. HMW, Roger, in La Habra, worked us through a repeater on Santiago Peak, and Ken, HHC, flew in and flew out. And JTT isn’t doing much at the mountain QTH wid 8 in. of snow and 30 to 40 deg. Temps. In the basement shack! AF6C has about 5 pair of binoculars so Bob is ready to look for Comet Lovejoy in the northwestern sky (in Perseus) come the week of Feb. 15. UH, Brian, was operating wid 5 watts from Mission Viejo, and Greg,ATB, worked his brother in the geographical center of Oregon, the City of Redmond, on Echolink on 10m tonite to the pleasure of all OPs on the 10m Net! IPH, Dennis, checked in wid FB sigs from Tustin, and K6RBS, Richard, in Mission Viejo, formerly G8GSG in England, said he may speak to the Club at a future meeting on ARRL matters!

OML, a lil short of breath today, aid the Triumvirate AF6C, DLA, and OML, serviced 12 new machines today, and AF6C,finishing a phone call just before Net, said the Club Roster is up-to-date. ATB is erecting a new 6m antenna, and Greg said his brother in Oregon was busy tonite, and MEC, using a vertical ant., was copying all OPs well but Clem had weak sigs at some OPs. IXN said K6RBS is a candidate to speak at a future Club meeting, and JKA checks out a rig for a friend. YHX gave all OPs their sig reports at the QTH, and Corey picks up a new HDTV, and, SA winds chase UX and the XYL out of the Jacuzzi. DNR, hearing all OPs, says Bobs are winners on the Net tonite. HHC gets ‘QUICKEN’ program ready fer ATB, and Ken said that HC, KJ6C, and other hams toured the Battleship IOWA, getting a private tour of the Radio Room! IPH was slightly off frequency at IXN’s QTH.

IXN, YHX, and OPs, discuss a possible Comet Party for Comet Lovejoy now a fuzz ball in the Northwestern sky, but will be at perihelion around Feb 14. HHC said MEC was gud copy on 10m tonite, and Ken has been doing some compiling wid ‘UBUTU’ & Lennox programs for DATV. FYG, in Rialto, has a high SA Wind blowing tonite, and Robert, EVX, said to contact KB6CMO@juno.com if you can help out at the upcoming tennis tournament in the Anaheim-Fullerton area. AF6C and OPs talked abt a Comet Party to observe Comet Lovejoy around mid Feb. OML gave the Braille report, and Gene said UG retired early. UX is upgrading the shack, and IXN forgot Jeff’s excellent suggestion for OPs at checkin. ETC is interested in Broadband Ham Net, and Tom enjoyed last Club meeting. JKA was testing an ALINCO rig for a friend, and JTT said it takes forever to get FMJ to service equipment!

W6ZE/AF6C checked in KJ6OML, N6HC, K6WHP, W6HHC, WØMEC, W6JTT, WB6IXN, N2VAJ, W6UX, and W6JKA. OML spent time getting a hedge trimmer repaired, and AF6C was monitoring snow fall at his sister’s QTH in New England. HC announced the upcoming K1N DXpedition, and some wind damage to the antennas during last rain and high wind storm. WHP, Bill, new Club member, has been working some CW and is using a dipole antenna. HHC said WHP sigs were too weak to copy, and Ken was compiling DATV software using Linnux. MEC was hearing most OPs tonite, and Clem said his antennas survived the strong SA Winds. JTT still awaits the arrival of MFJ part, and IXN said his dipole ant survived the SA winds FB! VAJ is attempting to connect his rig to the computer, has gud sigs tonite, and is off to Phoenix to work tomorrow. UX, working QRO today and DX tonite, survived the SA Winds FB. And JKA, on the Discone ant., is repairing an old Alinco rig for a friend.

ETC’s new 2m/440 ant weathered the SA Winds FB, and Tom announced HC’s upcoming Club presentation. JTT said the San Jacinto Mts. Had abt 8” of snow over the holidays, and the rain last week amounted to a drizzle only, allowing Sam to work on the rental. The Triumvirate, AF6C, DLA, and OML, skipped Braille Institute today, all OPs were busy! UX had 37 mi/hr wind gusts at the QTH, and Jeff raised the ant. abt 6 ft. UH, Brian, in Mission Viejo, has a Kenwood HT mobile rig and had 5/9 sigs in Santa Ana tonite. JKA talked abt adventures in ham radio, and YHX talked abt baking bread. And Mike, FYG, checked in from a vy quiet Rialto…No new earthquakes!
