AF6CF reported high QRN at the shack tonite, but IXN copied Nicholas 5/9 the whole way! CF’s antenna is doing FB! JTT, receiving all OPs, has a antique radio project under way restoring an old WWII vintage RU-16 rig. AF6C, problems starting one of his autos, told Sam that he might have old WWII radio parts lying around. IXN & Lee will be in Oregon for the 20th & 27th Nets, and AF6C is off to the auto Doc tomorrow. MEC relayed JTT to NC tonite…Bob cudn’t hear Sam tonite. ATB is ‘reading the mail’ on the vertical ant. tonite…Greg will have rotors on the ground for two antennas at either end of the house!
IXN relinquished NC duties to Corey, KE6YHX, checked in WØMEC, W6ETC, WB6IXN, KK6REB, KJ6OML, KK6TRC, W6ATB, And W6JTT. MEC will help set up at FD, and Clem will work the FD site during the Contest. ETC, using a used rig on consignment, welcomes our new visitors to the Net tonite. YHX is NC tonite, and Corey is almost ready fer FD. OML suspects solar flares is causing a lot of QRN. TRC says how abt automatic power reading of your electric meter?...YHX says probably not! ATB plans to drive the RV down to Crystal Cove, and OPs welcome teo new Hams to the ranks: KK6REB, Steve, in Cypress, and, Jeff, KK6TRC, in Huntington Beach. WELCOME to the Net! Both hold TECH licenses and we hope that REB & TRC will join us on 2m Net on Wed. at 830pm local time!
W6ZE/W6HHC checked in WB6IXN, KJ6OML, WØMEC, and W6ETC. DLA, Bruce, AF6C and OML worked at Braille Institute today servicing 15 Talking Book Machines. AF6C was busy tonite taking care of mom, and, DLA prepares his rain barrels to catch rain from the upcoming storm, and HHC says it’s not too late fer storms yet…Ken remembers a huge April storm some years back that rained out a Dodgers game! MEC had high QRN tonite, but IXN heard Clem S4 at the QTH tonite, and OML keeps his pool full thus keeping the walls and bottom in good shape. HHC helps Tony’s wife out wid lemons from a tree on the ‘back forty’…Seems that lemon aid will be the class project at school for the kids!...And HHC reminds all to attend the Club meeting Friday, and, the ‘Meeting-before-the-meeting’ if you plan to go to Field Day! ETC, using Nicholas’ old 10m antenna, puts out FB sigs tonite, S6 at IXN’s QTH…And this was Tom’s first time on 10m…FB, Tom!

ETC, unable to hear MEC tonite, reminded all abt the Club meetings this Friday eve, the FD meeting beginning at 6:00pm. JJT plans to be off to Idyllwild next weekend, and, Sam continues to work on a WWII vintage R-16 receiver. IXN’s 1st radio station in Southside Jr. High School in Oil City, PA., was all old WWII converted military gear! (accept the antenna, ofcourse!) OML gets the 50 gal. barrels ready to catch the upcoming rain, and, TRC, looking for a bushy plant for along a walk, listens to UG describe a plant called SENECCIA as a viable choice…Tnx, June. PKA will attend both Meeting Fri. eve…This will be Jack’s 1st Field Day! YHX is off to San Diego and will miss Friday’s meetings. IXN will be entertaining his two nieces, one from Oregon, the other from N. Cal., Fri. eve. And MEC cudn’t hear IXN too well on 10m tonite, and, FYG plans to attend the Citrus Belt R.C. Field Day, and, Mike might also drop by our FD site near Knotts Berry Farm!

JTT ‘flew in and flew out’, and YHX will assume NC duties on 2m for the next two weeks wid IXN out of town. YHX, team captain or the GOTA station, discussed plans fer FD. HC, caring for a sore back, and AF6C discussed noise sources. Clem heard NC well tonite, but QRN at NC’s made MEC hard to copy. El presidente TMT checked in near Net’s end…Tim was vy weak in the QRN. Due to strong QRN, the Net closed around 0305Z. Tnx Bob!
IXN & brother Lee were in Oregon visiting a niece, so KE6YHX, Corey, assumed NC duties for the Net. W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W6ETC, WØMEC, K6PKA, KK6TRC, and W6SQC. ETC, Tom, talked about his 10m dipole, and things he plans to improve, and Clem has a loop antenna up 25 ft. He was reading NC 5/5 tonite. The upcoming Field Day was mentioned, and it was good to hear Cass, SQC, in there once again!
W6ZE/AF6C checked in WØMEC, W6HHC, KJ6OML, WB6IXN, W6TMT, W6ATB, and KE6YHX. MEC, heard at IXN’s QTH, was down in the mud at NC,s QTH. HHC looks for a ‘Quick Guide’ for his new 440 HT, and IXN didn’t recall OML retuning his call after checkin. IXN was not seriously injured after takin a bad fall at the very dark Santa Ana Transportation Center retuning from Talent, Oregon. W6TMT had strong sigs at IXN’s QTH, and KC4FIT, Steven, in Irvine, must continue setting up his shack. TMT had 5/9 sigs at NC’s QTH tonite as did ATB. YHX, Corey, discussed the GOTA station for FD briefly.

IXN & Lee returned from Talent, Oregon, on the train, and MEC was loud and clear at IXN’s QTH, and AF6C had a problem with auto stalling in the rain. REB had a gud time at Club meeting but FD might be questionable, and, ETC and YHX are just abt ready fer Field Day, wid ATB already now!
