YHX takes the truck back to the mechanics to service the brakes and tighten a bumper. HHC hears all OPs tonite, and Ken announces new owners of Watsons will continue as usual. Ken also announced in interference problem between the OPD RACES repeater and the Catalina Repeater. IXN announced 40m opening agn on Sunday morning on 7.086 MHz CW net, and Bob told OPs interested in INFORMATION PRESERVATION to check out Leonard Susskind in his book, ‘The Blackhole Wars’. HHC will go back east to give a DATV talk to a TAPR group, and IXN told MEC to watch a Norfolk & Western DVD on the web (free) titled, ‘Pillars of smoke in the Sky’…Clem’s sigs were weak at IXN’s QTH, but readable. ETC heard all OPs FB tonite, and, Tom was running barefoot tonite wid no tuner…Tom announced ‘Show & Tell’ at next meeting…Bring your goodies! HHC said the ARRL Convention was Sept. 13.

ETC asked IXN to write up a protocol for the 2m Net for use by future Net Controls, and Tom once agn announced ‘Show & Tell’ at next meeting. VNB checked in, dropped out, and came back once agn wid 5/9 sigs. FYG’s new Diamond antenna is working FB, and Mike announced all quiet seismically. ATB was working 2m on the 2m meteor scatter beam tonite, and Greg announced that he is a grandpa once agn! TRC was a co-pilot on a small airplane flight which he enjoyed, and IXN heard MEC FB on 2m tonite, and Clem will look up DVD recommended by IXN & brother Lee.

IXN reconnected the ant to the rig after a nearby lightning strike during the rain, and, MEC had rain in Westminster also, and Clem, using low power, was heard by most OPs. UX enjoyed the rain today, and now Jeff is cleaning up a few QSL cards, and UX mentioned liquid tape for use to seal coax connectors. PGH made 4 contacts on PSK-31, and, commented on the Fullerton Fire yesterday. OML said the Triumvirate, AF6C, OML, and DLA, serviced Talking Book machines at Braille today, and ISY got sum rain at the QTH today…It felt good! Republican Debate!...2 checkins only wid KE6YHX as NC. W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WB6IXN and AF6C. Happy Birthday, Corey, and TNX fer NC duties tonite! IXN said we might be in for increasing earthquakes in So. CA., and AF6C checked into Net after the Republican Debate. We think most OPs were glued to the ‘tube’ watching the debate.

FYG & IXN briefly discussed the Great Earthquake off the coast of Chile earlier today, and VNB has completed a course in Incident Management sponsored by FEMA. AF6C still has plenty of roast left from a 5 lb roast, and Bob is now sporting a new big screen TV…Sounds like party time Bob! And Bob said OPs are not picking up their badges…THEY ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE AT CLUB MEETINGS! PKA hopes the homeowner’s assoc. will replace a sunken sidewalk that becomes ‘Lake Jack’ during a big rain. YHX came thru the rain showers in flying colors. TRC, in charge of maintenance for 300+ apartment units, was replacing a roof on a unit during the recent rain storm. JAY(Eddy) was visiting in the area, and may join us at a Club meeting on a future visit.
