N6HC assumed NC duties tonite. Arnie checked in KE6YHX, WØMEC, KJ6OML, W6ETC, and WB6IXN. YHX, wid lots of homework tonite, relinquished NC duties to Arnie. HC & XYL vacationed in the Mammoth Lakes area fer a few days enjoying the many sites in the region, and ETC wants OPs to be thinking about a new Board of Dirctors for OCARC. YHX now has APRS installed in the truck. MEC worked on the ‘back forty’ and Clem’s sigs were a bit weaker tonite. OML said this was an off week for the Triumvirate at Braille Institute, and Gene had a gud Labor Day. IXN had a cufuffle wid Bank of America.
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, W6ETC, K6PAD, W6ATB, KK6REB, KK6FYG, KK6TRC, and KJ6OML. IXN had QRN on Clem tonite. ETC, on TRC’s ECHOLINK, reminded OPs abt Club meeting next week, and Tom mentioned Ham Net news. PAD was cleaning up the shack, and Phil is interested in Ham News. ATB agrees wid IXN…the supposed massive Planet 9, supposedly located beyond Neptune, would have been found long ago using existing gravity laws! REB took last Friday off to attend a RACES meeting in Cypress. FYG, wid a quiet nite, reported a temp of 72 deg. in Rialto. TRC used the rig instead of echolink tonite, and Jeff mentioned a tape by Chip Margelli on www.W5KGB.
No formal Net was held. Noise was S9 at IXN’s QTH! However, K6JKA, KJ6OML, and K6PAD were heard on the Net.

MEC had slight static on his sigs tonite, and PAD got a new router…Now for more nets! AF6N, Jim, in Tustin and right next door to IXN, had 5/9 vy gud sigs tonite. ETC, on ECHO LINK, reminded all OPs to attend Club Meeting Friday eve. PAL is now involved wid RACES, and TRC welcomed the wee bit of rain we all had recently! FYG reported all is quiet in Rialto at present, and JKA is looking fer a Tear Drop Microphone EMS#3 fer an ALINCO rig. REB is deeply involved in house renovation at the QTH.
W6ZE/W6HHC checked in WØMEC, WB6IXN, KJ6OML, and W6JTT. HHC reported that AF6C had a blown power supply, and, Ken will soon be off to Paris, France, on vacation (good wine, good food!). Ken hopes he has the new air conditioner programmed correctly. MEC says work on new amplifier is slow, and IXN is not looking forward to 100 deg. heat over the weekend. OML was at last Club meeting, and Gene works the LOARA net between the OCARC 10 & 2m Nets. HHC reported that NI6E, Pete, in Tustin, had his revamped news media truck for ham radio out in the parking lot at last Club meeting where it grew a lot of attention…Wid the antenna mast up, Pete was working an OP in the mountains to the East. JTT was hearing most OPs tonite, but HHC had some noise on Sam.

YCJ was high up in the bleachers at Dodger Stadium where the Dodgers were winning 8 to 1 at the time…Ken was on a HT wid 5/9 sigs at NC’s QTH! ETC announced the Club Auction next month wid N7JA, Chip, the auctioneer…Come one, come all…wid your ‘ham gear goodies’ to be auctioned off!...Doors open at 6:00 pm! IXN hears MEC better on the dipole on 10m, and Clem gave YCJ a gud sig report frm Dodger Stadium. JKA reported the ‘LID’ was still cluttering up the bands on 75 & 80m…He will continue to do so until the FCC confiscates his gear and antennas! REB watches his son compete in Water Polo games…Steve will pile up the miles on the auto during the season! PGH, wid the XYL a ’lil under the WX, plans a little RTTY during the Contest this weekend, and FYG & IXN note a small rise in seismic activity during the week, as Mike plans to raise the dipole ant a few feet higher to see if he can improve communications!
W6ZE/KE6YHX assumed NC duties as AF6C deals wid a ailing power supply. YHX checked in KJ6OML, WØMEC, WB6IXN, W6JTT, KJ6JKA, K6PAD, and W6ATB. IXN had S5 noise level tonite…Must be some new QRN device in the neighborhood! NC had fair reception tonite, but reading OML’s sigs were a bit difficult. MEC was down in the QRN at IXN’s QTH, and IXN was reading NC 5/9. IXN was reading JTT around Q2, but Sam had stronger sigs at YHX’s QTH. IXN had high QRN on PAD, but Phil seemed to be having less QRN at the QTH. YHX is glad that his new air conditione is working well in this high heat. IXN missed JKA’s comments…Wil was weaker at the QTH wid QRN abt S5. ATB had S9 sigs at IXN’s QTH, having the loudest sigs on 10m!
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in W6ATB, KJ6OML, WØMEC, AF6N, K6PAD, KE6YHX, W6JTT, and KK6FYG. ATB’s 200W lit up all bars on IXN’s rig tonite and Greg said 40m has been open in the mornings. OML said this was an off day at Braille Institute. MEC reported his Slim Jim antenna up abt 75 ft! AF6N reported QRN from inverters on solar panel installation in the neighborhood! Maybe IXN is getting the same kind of QRN! Congrats to Phil, K6PAD, on getting his Extra Class License. And YHX, homework down to abt 2 hrs, put a new Bosch drill in the tool box. JTT reported that the XYL had cardiovascular surgery, and Sam said the cats and son’s two sheep dogs are doing well. FYG was doing much better wid the temp down to 74 deg. tonite, and IXN and Mike briefly discussed the ongoing EQ activity in Southeast Salton Sea. Mike mentioned the ‘Super Moon’ close approach to the Earth in Nov…We’ll watch out for EQs during that period of high gravity!
