W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WB6IXN, KJ6JKA, K6PKA, KM6IZO, KJ6OML, W6JTT, WØMEC, and W6ATB. IXN had gud sigs on all OPs tonite, and Bob said all was quiet on the Astronomy front. JKA reported low QRN on all checkins and said low band ‘LIDS’ are still operating up north! IXN cudn’t hear Vijay too well, and PKA was working wid two radios using a vertical antenna. VJA(?) is not looking forward to a funeral. OML, 5/7 at NC, was at Braille on Tues. wid DLA and AF6C following on Wednesday..TNX, GUYS! JTT reported NC weak tonite on 10m, and using MEC to relay. Vijay had low sigs at the QTH, and YHX has the truck loaded for Field Day.
JTT reported low sigs on 10m tonite, and Sam still has to feedlines to replace. IZO had gud sigs at NC. OML gave the Braille report, and JKA said LIDS are still fouling up 75-80m bands. MAO reports 90 deg. temps in Rialto, and IXN & Lee check out MEC’s northern railroad website. YHX gave OP sig reports, still monitors San Sevaine Seismometer (IXN, too, on 163.795 Mhz), and Corey continues preparations for Field Day.
W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in KM6IZO, WØMEC, WB6IXN, W6JTT, W6ATB, and K6PAD. IXN tells MEC that he and Lee watched a train running in a snowstorm on the web…MEC’s sigs were very near to the QRN level at IXN’s QTH. IXN couldn’t hear IZO who was down in the QRN. And JTT is still replacing old coax lead-in at the QTH. ATB, working 6m and some DX, continues working meteor scatter, and PAD worked E51DLD DX in South Cook Island near New Zealand.
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KM6IZO, WØMEC, W6JTT, KE6YHX, K6PAD, and KK6IRZ, Jeff, in Chino. IZO is now interested in ECHOLINK, and MEC was right, IXN & Lee mountain snow train was electric. YHX was using 100W on 10m tonite, and Corey gave sig reports to all OPs. Corey also cleaned up the shack making more room! PAD worked W6HB on vacation in South Cook Island (mentioned above). KK6IRZ, Jeff, checked in wid 5/9 sigs from Chino.

Brother Lee was in the hospital for two days wid blood in his urine and pneumonia. YHX dealt wid the noise level pretty well. IXN copied PKA about 5/7 but YHX copied ATB and MEC and IXN cudn’t hear either Greg or Clem. IXN cud hear Dennis, IPH, in Seal Beach in the background who was operating on a ten meter ground plane antenna, and IXN cud barely hear Vijay, IZO, in the background.
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in AG6UG, W6JTT, KJ6OML, KM6IZO, WB6HMW, KE6YHX, W∅MEC, KJ6JKA, and KK6TRC. It was good to hear June, UG, back once again after a long absence. OML reported that he and DLA serviced 11 Talking Book machines at Braille Institute. Gene also reported that Bob, AF6C, was back in the Boston area visiting wid his sister. JTT has replaced the bad 2m lead-in coax, and Roger, HMW, is practically a next door neighbor. YHX reminded all OPs abt Club Meeting this Friday eve, and IXN told MEC about rail travel videos on the web. JKA has practically given up on 75m where a bunch of ‘LIDS’ are in control at present, and TRC, Jeff, had very gud sigs on ECHOLINK, where IXN finally left a pause for Jeff to return! Bill, K6ACJ, Huntington Beach, checked in mobile from South County wid 5/9 sigs, and, N6YMK, in Fontana, also checked in, but IXN had no notes for Charles.

YHX has written up a new protocol for Net Controls which he will submit to the Board for approval. MEC, relayed for JTT as NC could not copy Sam, operating on a wire antenna after taking down a non-operating 10m antenna. JKA said that there was not much going on at the shack this past week.
W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WØMEC, WB6IXN, W6MAO, K6PAD, KD6RUP(Dick), W6JTT, KM6IZO, and KK6REB. MEC cudn’t hear JTT on 2m (Sam hadn’t checked in yet). IXN cudn’t find JTT’s name and call on the Club Roster. MAO reported no seismic events to write home about, and Mike faded in and out at IXN’s QTH. PAD found 6m open on digital and sideband today, and Dick, RUP, in Irvine, is a Club member. Didn’t catch why YHX bought a meat tenderizer on EBAY, but Corey said 10m opened up near Net’s end. JTT said he paid his Club dues but IXN cudn’t find Sam listed on the Club Roster. IZO was 5/9 the whole way at IXN’s QTH, and REB took his two sons to Escondido to watch seals, and Steve cud not copy NC! YHX is ready to help set up on Friday before Field Day…Setup begins at 5 pm.

And Bob told MEC about new snow plow methods used by railroads…Only old rotary snow plows used in very deep snow. NC gave all OPs sig reports, and JKA is making some renovations at the QTH, and don’t forget that Wil has some old transformers at the shack…Yours for the taking! WV, Roger, checked in wid armchair sigs at IXN’s QTH, and IXN got bad news…NO DSL on NetZero after July 10! IXN missed JTT’s comments having checked in late.
HELP! HELP! We need a 2M Net Control! It isn’t fair to ask Corey, YHX, to handle 2 Nets! The Club may have to establish a system to select new Net Controls for the 2 and 10m Nets, either steady or rotating! MEC heard IXN on 10m tonite and NC reported 3/7 bars for Clem, and 2 to 3 bars out of 7 for WV, Roger. NC, IXN, and Sam discuss JTT’s no-listing on the Club roster, and RUP checks in from a 3rd floor of an apartment building in Irvine lighting 3 out of 7 bars at NC. IXN is changing Internet provider from NetZero, and JTT was on a groundplane ant. for 10m tonite. Need old parts for older gear?...try KJ6JKA!...Wil has old parts at the Shack, yours for the asking! And JTT has 3 RingoRanger antennas…They are very good antennas on 2m especially!
