W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W0MEC, AI6WV, W6ATB, KM6IZO, W6JTT, and KJ6OML. Corey YHX postponed the net until 7:45pm, due to a coinciding net. Clem MEC receives Sam JTT loud and clear. Clem reports Sam can’t hear Net Control, so Clem relays. He reports there is no new info on the Bouvet Island DXPedition. Rodger AI6WV is using a vertical antenna, and is at 100W. He has a high noise level. Greg ATB tries a new aluminum 10m dipole antenna made by Siro in Italy, and Corey copies him at 15dB over s9. Greg is 21dB over s9 to Net Control at 500W. Vijay IZO has a new MFJ-969 antenna tuner, and is running 100W. Sam JTT is faint but readable on his second transmission; he switched to his 10m dipole. Gene OML won’t be at the General Meeting because he is going to the Yuma Hamfest. Corey YHX is receiving each at s6.2, s5.1, 21dB over s9, s5.8, s1.8, and s6.4, respectively. QRT 20:08 PST

Clem reads Net Control at an s3. Clem is fully readable to Corey YHX. Vijay IZO has a new Baofeng F9V2+ HT. Gene OML reads Clem at an s2, Vijay at an s3, and everyone else is clear. Dick RUP is on a 5W HT, with a Comet antenna. Rodger AI6WV has a quarter-wave whip on a piece of pipe on the raingutter; Corey reads him full-copy at 50W. Sam JTT had some atmospheric noise on 10m. He is looking into a new, quality 10m dipole antenna from Siro. Phil PAD hopes the best for the Bouvet Island DXPedition; he receives all the check-ins fine. Terrence AI6ZV is running a FT-991A, 50W into a 333 Comet Tribander; He has been trying CW and Corey YHX reminds us of the Sunday morning CW Net. Vijay signs-off in Morse Code. W6ZE/W0MEC checked in W6JTT, W6ATB, KM6IZO, KE6YHX, and KJ6OML. Corey YHX got to the radio a little late, so Clem MEC is Net Control. Greg ATB calls to MEC and they receive each other okay. Greg is running 500W into a vertical dipole. Clem is running 40W into a vertical. Vijay IZO calls to Clem, but Clem cannot hear him, so Greg calls back. Vijay is strong to Corey, but is a little weak to Greg. Clem hears Greg talking to Vijay in Irvine. Corey comes in at 19:40 PST. Vijay gets Greg’s location as Downtown Orange. Sam JTT checks in first, and signs clear now. Gene OML checks in and is s8 to Clem. Gene signs clear and gets ready for the 2M Net. QRT 19:42 PST

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in KM6IZO, W6ATB, AF6CF, W6JTT, W0MEC, and KJ6OML. Vijay IZO reads Corey YHX very scratchy, so Corey boosts his power to 50W, then Vijay reads him clearly. Corey pegs Greg ATB’s s-meter at max. Greg is running a 5dBi UHF/VHF antenna at 40ft. Nicholas AF6CF receives Net Control, Greg, and Sam full-scale. Sam JTT got a new 10M dipole, and Saturday he and his son will work on installing it. Clem MEC is running 2.5W into a Slim-Jim up 26ft, and receives Net Control at s3-s4. Clem reports on the Bouvet Island DXpedition. They are limping in to South Africa with one engine out, but they are in good health. Gene OML hears everyone clearly. He reports he will not be at the General Meeting, because he is going to the Hamfest in Yuma. Corey YHX reads each at 4 bars, F.Q., 6 bars, 4 bars, 3 bars, and F.Q., respectively. QRT 20:45 PST

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W6ATB, AI6WV, W6JTT, and AF6C. Greg ATB is getting back to satellite communications, and explains AmSATs and the methods for receiving and transmitting. It may help on Field Day. Corey YHX asks about satellite packet. Greg says it can be done, but is a lot harder. Rodger AI6WV is coming it weak to Net Control, but jumps to s4.6 on the second go-round when he switches to his vertical. He reports he is running an end-fed vertical dipole. Sam JTT is running a new “Siro” 10M Dipole. Bob AF6C explains the web site work for the Club Historian Databases. He had to go to San Diego to pick up some Heathkits, so he missed the Yuma Hamfest. Bob says he talked to a guy who wrote some Heathkit books. Corey YHX reads each at 16dB over s9, s3.1, s3.8, and 12dB over s9, respectively. QRT 20:06 PST

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W6JTT, W6ATB, AF6C, AI6WV, N6BMG, KM6IZO, KK6TRC, KJ6OML, and K6RBS. Sam JTT has noise in his area, Corey YHX is weak but readable. Sam reports on his new 10M dipole. He still has work to do on his VHF antennas. Sam is on his ground plane, and Net Control reads him full-copy. Greg ATB reads Vijay better on 2M than 10M. Bob AF6C talks to Eric BMG about the meeting location. He reports he has been talking to Ken about taking down his Yagi and rotator. Rodger AI6WV is using the same rig as for 10M. Corey is pegging Eric BMG’s meter. The digital modes are rekindling Eric’s interest in Ham Radio. Bob and Eric talk for a while. Vijay IZO mentions the rocket launch from Vandenberg. Jeff TRC’s audio improved on Echolink. Jeff tells us the rocket launch tomorrow is of a “PAZ” satellite from Spain. Gene OML was busy during the 10M Net. Bob reports on the missile launch reschedule to Thursday. Richard RBS recommends SpaceArchive. info for information on the rocket launches. W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in KM6IZO and AF6C. Vijay IZO reports on the delayed missile launch from Vandenburg. He is transmitting at 100W, and receives Net Control clearly. Bob AF6C tells us a rainstorm is coming in the next couple days, so he is waiting to remove his rotator. He is working on another Heathkit, an IO-4550 Oscilliscope. Corey YHX reads the check-ins at s5.9, and 13dB over s9, respectively. QRT 19:46

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in KJ6OML, KD6RUP, KM6IZO, and N6TMT. Corey YHX receives Gene OML full-scale. Dick RUP is transmitting at 5W with an HT, and Corey YHX notices a great improvement when Dick steps out onto his deck. Dick had a nice pizza dinner in Irvine. Vijay IZO says Corey is coming in loud and clear, but doesn’t receive the other check-ins. Tim TMT is on an HT, but is using an external antenna. Corey reads him full-copy.
