10m Phone Net – W6ZE/AF6C checked in KE6YHX, W6HHC, WB6IXN, KJ6OML, and
K6DNR. YHX checks out polyphasers for the TVs,
and Corey & AF6C discussed feedline sizes and connectors, and YHX continues work on
the Darth Vader costume for Halloween. HHC’s
comment after the Presidential debate tonite was “Tax everybody!” AF6C updated OPs on ‘Log Book of the
World’, telling OPs they must remember the date they were put up on Log Book of the
World. AF6C bought a new Epson printer and now
deals wid the intricacies of ‘Epson Work Force Pro’. HHC and Diane had a wonderful time vacationing in
France, finding the city of Nice one of the highlights of the trip! HHC is the Newsletter editor this month, and Ken is
looking for OPs to list items for the Club Auction to be placed on the Club website. IXN updates OPs on cooler WX coming our way, and
OML helped service Talking Books at Braille Institute wid AF6C & DLA today. AF6C gave DNR a quick explanation of how the Club
Auction works.

– W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6LHA, KJ6UJA, KE6YHX, KJ6OML, and AF6C. The Presidential Debate trimmed down checkins
tonite on both Nets, and LHA made a 2m/440 J-pole ant out of 300 O TV twin lead. UJA, on vacation & back from din-din out
tonite, prepares to work upcoming busy holidays at Disneyland. YHX continues upgrading his Darth Vader Halloween
costume as he searches for reasonable leather prices.
OML’s 10m sigs may be skipping over IXN’s QTH, and Gene says his
10m dipole is oriented N&S…IXN’s 10m ant is vertical. AF6C ‘flew in and flew out’ to work on an
‘intense problem’.

Net – W6ZE/AF6C checked in WB6IXN, KE6YHX, W6HHC, KJ6OML, K6DNR, and N6NBV. AF6C reminded OPs about the Club Bfast Saturday wid
details on the website, and Bob got an old digital clock working once again…Now, Bob
must ge ‘spider web lights ready for Halloween. YHX
continues to work on RF feedline, got a radio controlled clock, and prepares for an
upcoming calculus test. IXN brings attention
to increasing seismic activity north of Mt. Laguna on the Elsinore Fault zone, and Bob
says light shower activity Thursday. HHC &
IXN both hear OML tonite, and Gene and XYL, June, attended the Talking Book repair session
today wid AF6C, and HHC has October Newsletter mostly completed including Anacapa Island
pictures! DNR plans to auction off a Yaesu FT
301-D at the Club Auction at Oct. Club meeting…DNR will be NC on the 2m Net tonite. NBV, unable to hear NC well, used DNR to relay
sigs.

– W6ZE/K6DNR checked in WB6IXN, AF6C, KE6YHX, KJ6OML, KJ6LHA, KJ6UJA, and N8AE/m. IXN has been invaded by the 5th Army of
ants at the QTH, DNR,too! AF6C got a 40
yr old digital clock working but needs a new 12V transformer to brighten the display, and
Bob reminded OPs abt the upcoming Club Auction at next meeting, and, the Club Bfast come
Saturday. N8AE/m checked in wid a ‘Hello All’. YHX
attended a disaster meeting at the Red Cross today wid Lucy Jones from Caltech Seismic
Laboratory the speaker. LHA & UJA
participated in a City/County RACES exercise over the weekend.

Net – W6ZE/AF6C checked in N6HC, W6HHC, KJ6OML, KE6YHX, and WB6IXN. AF6C alerted all OPs about the Club Auction this
Friday evening, and HC thanks HHC for a very good Newsletter!...And, wid no DXpedition
news at this time, Arnie is looking forward to the Auction!
AF6C has been too busy wid legal matters to help Michael wid the amplifier
as yet. HHC announced that our very
capable Chip Margelli, K7JA, will once again be auctioneer Friday evening! And HHC enjoyed HC’s DXpedition article
in the Newsletter. HHC is still updating the
DATV transmitter board, and, getting TAPR DCC artiles uploaded on the Internet. OML helped service talking book units at Braille
Institute. YHX & AF6C discussed Band
Pass Filters. IXN told OPs that canyon Valle
Marinus on Mars exhibits right lateral motion for opposite walls of the canyon.

KJ6UJA, K6TDI(Terry), KJ6OML, KJ6GTX, and K6TW/m(Tim).
LHA continues to do work on 2m and 10m antennas, and JTT is back from a 3
week trip to Europe…Sam’s son is on his 2nd engineering tour of duty
in Afghanistan, and JTT hopes to have him home for Christmas. YHX checks out a USC cable fer the laptop computer,
and FCT, Lou, Extra, in Mission Viejo, checked in using a Diamond X-200 ant. mounted on a
balcony up 25 ft. AF6C said Lou was
‘booming in’ from Mission Viejo, and Bob & YHX briefly discussed computer
business. NBV and FCT know each other, and HHC
is looking forward to the Club Auction come Friday where Ken said an old ‘Johnson 1KW
antenna Tuner will be up for grabs! UJA, busy
around the QTH, ‘flew in and flew out’, TDI, Terry, General, in Riverside, was
down in the QRN at IXN’s QTH, and HHC relayed Terry’s QSO. OML volunteered at Braille Institute today. IXN told Gene that his 10m sigs are stronger.

Wednesday…IT’S HALLOWEEN!! Af6C was
using a HTX 1000 rig tonite that belonged to GEP, Tim, and Bob copied some DX wid the rig,
too. AF6C and Gene, OML, serviced talking book
machines today at Braille Institute and they also looked over cassettes that are no longer
used in the new digital machines. We thank
Chip Margelli, K7JA, for another auctioneering job done at the OCARC auction last Friday
nite, and, Dino, KX6D, will postpone the Antenna Expo program until September, 1013. HC told AF6C to check wid Arnie before Bob buys a
TV for his mom. All OPs are waiting for
HC’s DXpedition talk at Nov. Club meeting. HHC
and HC briefly discussed a very successful JOTA meeting over the past weekend in Tonner
Canyon, and HHC and HHC said 54 items were up for auction, 47 items were sold, wid a
profit of $660+ for the Club treasury…Nice going, OPs!
DNR checked in near Net’s end and briefly discussed the Club
Auction.
10/24/2012 2m Phone Net – W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, KJ6LHA, KJ6UJA, KE6YHX, K6DNR, W6GMU, and N6NBV. IXN and OML both have YAESU FT-897 rigs, and DNR checks into the insomnia net. IXN said both 10m and 2m Nets are cancelled next week…HALLOWEEN! LHA & UJA are kicked back listeneing to the Net, and YHX is off to pick up some more leather for the Darth Vader costume. El presidente, GMU, worked sum DX in South America. NBV and another OP are interfacing the YAESU 950 wid the computer.
