W6ZE/AF6C checked in W6ATV, KI6X, W6HHC, KJ6OML, WB6IXN, KE6YHX, W6JTT, and KJ6JKA. Working on digital stuff and the computer, and business duties plus watching the grand daughter a couple of hours each day, have kept ATV busy the past week. And AF6C tackled one of his ‘favorite’ jobs…a stubborn clog at a Y in the drain! KI6X’s vertical antenna is lying in the trees as we welcome Dan to the Net…Dan had gud sigs despite the errant antenna! HHC said that lamp post lights in City of Orange will be replaced soon…We hope they won’t cause an interference problem!...And HHC has gud luck replacing an errant Amazon ordered computer! The Triumvirate, OML, AF6C, and DLA serviced 15 Talking Book machines at Braille Institute today, and YHX had a calculus test today so no homework tonite, and, Corey and AF6C discussed solar power regulation during the day and battery feedback into solar cells at nite. JTT an OPs were experiencing high noise levels on the 10m band tonite, and, Sam khas the new 10m antenna ready to install. IXN’s sigs get weaker and weaker…Time for some tune-up work! JKA ‘flew in and flew out’.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, AF6C, W6JTT, W6ATV, KI6X, KE6YHX, and KK6FYG. OML said XYL UG, was resting, and Gene gave the Braille report for today. IXN reported a possible scam and alerted OPs! AF6C said the beam antenna needs repaired…It may have some stripped gears! OPs discussed IXN’s low sigs on 10m, and, OPs offered to help Bob resolve them. IXN & JTT were able to communicate well on Sam’s new 2m ant. at the mountain QTH, and ATV is busy wid company business and keeping the grand daughter. YHX is shielding his room from possible radiation…And IXN reported no radiation from the destroyed Japanese reactor has reached the West Coast of the U.S. KI6X, Dan, in Orange, ‘flew in & flew out’, and, KK6FYG, checked in from Rialto wid FB sigs and gave a brief report on the Cucamonga Fire.

W6ZE/AF6C checked in WB6IXN and W6HHC wid 100 deg. heat outside of IXN’s QTH! AF6C registered 10% humidity in his QTH…Bob added moisture to the air to improve the humidity! AF6C says IXN’s sigs are still way down in the QRN wid much needed analysis in the future at IXN’s QTH! Both Ken and Bob solved their clogged drain problems…Diane filled the sink wid water, there was a big ‘klunk’, all the water rushed down the drain…Goodby plumbing problems! One can tell HHC is from PA…He likes the sound of trickling water in a fountain emulating trickling brooks back in PA.! IXN cannot find the source of the high SWR at the QTH!...AF6C offers to help solve the mystery!

As with 10m, the high heat in the shacks are keeping OPs out of the radio room! W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in W6JTT, W6ETC, AF6C, K6DNB, and K6RBS. JTT’s new ants. are doing FB!...And Sam is recuperating nicely from cataract surgery. N6GP and three Club OPs operated a very successful ham radio booth at the 2014 Scout-O-Rama. AF6C told IXN that IXN may have a broken wire somewhere in the ant. circuit!...IXN’s ant is an MFJ vertical #1796. DLA & AF6C serviced 11 Talking Book machines at Braille Institute today. DNR, wid FB sigs, `flew in and flew out’, and Tom, ETC, reported on Scout-O-Rama activities. Richard, K6RBS, in Mission Viejo, also had FB sigs at the QTH tonite.

W6ZE/AF6C checked in WB6IXN and KE6YHX. Summer vacations, etc., are cutting into Net checkins! AF6C is busy cleaning up the QTH in preparation for a visit from his sister back in the Boston area. IXN told OPs to look on pp.86 & 87 in June QST to read abt the Amsterdam Is. DXpedition and see a group picture of the Group wid our Arnie, N6HC. AF6C asked YHX to be NC for the 10m Net next week…sister in town! And Bob said he and DLA serviced 4 old and 6 new Talking Book machines at Braille Institute, even though their work areas was filled wid furniture to be rearranged! AF6C had new mystery book info. for HHC, but Ken didn’t check into Net! YHX is preparing for a calculus final in abt 2 weeks, and, Corey finished his homework (all but 1 problem!) IXN jiggled a few wires, sprayed the roller inductor in the antenna tuner, changed settings, and improved his signal slightly. Also, IXN is losing strength in his legs, making it difficult to climb and increasing soreness in hip joints! AF6C warned of coyotes roaming in City of Orange Streets!

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KE6YHX, W6JTT, AF6C, KK6FYX, and W6ETC. IXN apologizes to Tom, ETC, for missing his name (hearing problem)! And YHX has one problem left to work out at school. JTT is presently not pleased wid his new 10m antenna, and Sam plans further work at the mountain QTH this weekend. Mike, FYX, said brush fires didn’t affect him in Rialto, and AF6C continues writing new programs for the new computer. ETC ‘flew in and flew out’, and AF6C & DLA missed OML at Braille today.

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W6HHC, WB6IXN, and W6ATB. AF6C was entertaining his sister from back East plus spending time with their mother. HHC, YHX, and IXn all enjoyed the ‘Show and Tell’ at last Club meeting. HHC will have a DATV presentation at the upcoming ARRL Convention in San Diego, and IXN talked about the discovery of gravitational waves in the Cosmic Microwave Background using a telescope in Anarctica. YHX puts wood chips around his trees to conserve water, and ATB is working on the Club Newsletter, getting ready for FD, and, tells Corey there is clipping on his sigs.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KE6YHX, W6ATB, W6ETC, KK6FYG, W6JTT, KB6WHV, and KJ6JKA. YHX said ATB saw clipping on his sigs on the spectrum scope, and,Corey has a calculus test tomorrow! ATB is still working on elevating antennas, and ETC experiences interference on a commercial radio net at 464.8125 MHZ…Any ideas OPs?! FYG uses a dipole inverted V HF ant. up 25 ft and has 5/9 sigs on 2m. JTT, back from the Mts, continues work on HF and 2m antennas, and David, KB6WHV, checked in wid 5/9 sigs from CSU Northridge. JKA, Wil, in HB, bought a new audo noise cancellation device at the Dayton Hamvention for around $199 price range, made by BHI Noise Cancellation Products in England. And JKA said that 464.8125 MHz is the Motorola Control Channel.
