OML & AF6C serviced Talking Book machines at Braille today, and IXN cudn,t hear UG tonite…June was way down in the QRN! JTT’s eye surgery was very successful, and IXN heard Sam 5/9 tonite. JKA lives in an area wid antenna restrictions! And MEC was down in the QRN tonite. IPH checked into Net from the Tustin Ranch Road area on a ground plane antenna up 25 ft. wid gud sigs. NC cud hear all stations reasonably well tonite!

IXN hopes we will have rain this winter, and FYG mentioned a 3.4 event in or near Loma Linda. OML said he and AF6C serviced 15 Talking Books at Braille Institute today…Want to join in?...Talk to Bob or Gene. JTT & IXN briefly discussed cataract surgery as Sam had both eyes done successfully. AF6C reported that OCARC came in 6th in the Nation for FD. And Bob noted the Centennial operation of the ARRL. TNC was down in the QRN at Is QTH, and IXN and OPs talked abt the Rosetta space probe of the European Space Agency that landed on a comet today. IXN has a noise generating device in the neighborhood, and HHC was well pleased wid the Club showing for Field Day. AF6C’s nephew’s dog got sick from Chinese treats given him at the vets. And YHX said school was closed on election day…Corey will finish classes in early December for this semester.

And AF6C told IXn abt his nephew’s yellow lab that got sum bad food, and IXN told OPs abt Jennifer, a golden lab owned by our pastor. And JTT has mostly LED Christmas lites now wid no RF problems! OML gave the BRAILLE report wid AF6C, OML, and DLA all present at Braille Institute today. UG & IXN talked abt the effects of deep rooted gras in the garden, and KJA & IXN talked abt two minor quakes near HB, and Wil sent congrats to the Club on our Field Day showing, #6 in the Contest! FYG said all was quiet seismically in the Northridge area, and ETC is looking forward to family arriving at the QTH during the holidays!

YCJ mentioned interest in two new Japanese radios, one a YAESU FT-291 series. IXN has bath and bedroom construction all done, and HHC has three bathrooms finishing construction, and Ken reminded all OPs abt Club meeting Friday…gud program and election of Club officers. IXn has vy high SWR, and OML gave the Braille report wid the Triumvirate: AF6C, OML, and DLA in attendance…Tnx, guys! NKU reported weak sigs fer IXN, and no report on IXN’s weak sigs from JKA.
W6ZE checked in KJ6OML, KE6FYG, AF6C, W6ETC, and KJ6JKA. Two meters was FB fer IXN. OML saia UG was busy arnd the QTH, and Gene gave the Braille report. ETC expressed interest in SWR and IXN will have much more on his high SWR on 10m in the future! Bob, AF6C, offered technical assistance to Bob wid his high SWR problem, and JKA checked in from HB having just completed a soldering job.

AF6C & Arnie, N6HC, appeared Tuesday at IXN’s QTH to repair a dipole trap antenna that was swaying to and fro in the Santa Ana winds…AF6C spent abt 20 minutes using a heavy drill motor and dull bit to drill a hole thru antenna anchor and mast to solve the problem. Then, the feeds from the balun to each spoke of the dipole was connected, and, IXN was back on the air!...Tnx, guys!! AF6C successfully baked 2 pumpkin pies fer TG, and MEC gave IXN a 5/8 sig report tonite. And Clem will not have too much freeway travel over TG. HHC also gave IXN 5/9 sig report on the repaird antenna, and Ken’s construction at the QTH is abt completed…IXN’s repairs at the QTH are already done. HHC enjoyed Dennis Kidder’s talk on old radios at Club meeting as did IXN and Club OPs! JKA was down in the QRN at IXN’s shack where noise level was S7, and we briefly discussed the ‘demonstrations for the sake of demonstration’ taking place in the local area.

IXN said no rain until Sunday at the earliest, and, Roger, HMW, checked in wid strong sigs from LaHabra. AF6C relayed N7DW’s call to IXN as Bob cud not hear him!...Bob, DW, is located in Elsinore. AF6C mentioned a rotator for IXN’s trapped dipole antenna, but IXN would need an extra strong geared rotator as the SA winds create a tremendous force on the mast of the dipole ant.!
