10/07/15 10m Phone Net

W6ZE/AF6C checked in KJ6OML, WØMEC, KE6YHX, and WB6IXN. It’s Fall, and AF6C was a ’lil under the WX, and Bob is off to LB for lunch wid former fellow workers. OML serviced 7 out of 12 Talking Book machines at Braille, but, sent one ‘smoking’ machine back to LA for further servicing. MEC & IXN are enjoying the cooler WX (while it lasted!) IXN has the diarrhea, and brother Lee has a bladder infection. MEC and IXN both renewed their ham licenses. YHX already renewed his license, and Corey now tackles cleaning up the truck.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, KK6VNB, W6JTT, KK6REB, KK6FYG, KE6YHX, KK6WFV, KK6KMM, KJ6JKA, K6PGH, and KJ6OML…Nice checkin, OPs! MEC checked in using only 2 Watts wid 3/7 sigs at NC. VNB spent time at the EOC and wid RACES last Saturday, and JTT continues work refurbishing two WWII vintage radios. REB talked wid a buddy in Perris by repeater. FYG had just a ’lil rain, and IXN & Mike briefly mentioned warm water fish moving northward. WFV’s ant is on the garage roof, and Phil is using a HT tonite. YHX is preparing to clean the upholstery in the truck, and KMM is researching RF rigs. JKA ‘flew in & flew out’, and PGH just got back from a trip to the River, and Doug is now an official ARRL VE!...Congrats, Doug! OML, the only OP at Braille Institute today, repaired 7 Talking Book Machines and sent one smoking machine back to LA for repair.

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WØMEC, WB6IXN, W6JTT, KJ6JKA, K6PGH, and AF6C. MEC, along wid OPs, found the band noisy…There was a slow rotating radar antenna creating interference also! We found AF6C finishing up cooking chores and thinking abt Ohio State vs Peen State in football. IXN doesn’t think much of the present warm, muggy WX…Little or no rain for the Southland! And AF6C works Chesterfield Island DXpedition both phone & CW. PGH worked both Chesterfield Island DXpedition & the CA. QSO Party…And Doug cud hardly hear NC tonite. JKA heard both Clem & Corey, and Wil was using a vertical antenna.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, KK6TRC, W6JTT, KJ6OML, KK6KMM, AF6C, KJ6JKA, K6PAD, KE6YHX, K6PGH, KK6FYG, and KK6REB…Nice Checkin, OPs! MEC, in Westminster found 10m noisy, and TRC checked in using 5W tonite, and Jeff mentioned an American Legion (291) sponsored sailboat ride for the blind…IXN wondered if Braille Institute in Anaheim was aware of it! JTT mentioned that he is restoring two World War II vintage radios, and OML said there were no machines at Braille Institute for servicing today. IXN apologizes to Ed, KMM, and PAD, Phil, for missing them on their turns on the checkin list, and ED had gud sigs at NC tonite. YHX’s first steamer didn’t work, so Corey is getting another one to do the truck upholstery, and he has the electric guitar & amplifier abt ready to go. QST!...Wil, JKA, has a supply of OLD TUBES! CONTACT Wil if you are looking for old tubes! REB attends his son’s Water Polo games at High School, and Doug, PGH, had 5/9 sigs at NC in Santa Ana tonite. FYG reports the AC is dripping water in this high humidity, and Mike reported 3 ½ bars on YHX sigs tonite. AF6C has finished his cooking chores for this time, and Bob was happy that YHX took over 10m Net duties tonite.

W6ZE/AF6C checked in WØMEC, KJ6OML, K6PGH, WB6IXN, KK6REB, and W6ETC. AF6C got the intercoms working…Maybe they’ll end up at his sister’s house back East…Bob also had a small spider crawling around on his glasses! OML, AF6C, and DLA serviced 31 Talking Book machines at Braille Institute today. PGH & AF6C are both Penn State grads, and Doug will work the CQ Worldwide Contest this weekend. IXN reported a huge El Nino WX mass moving northwest off the tip of Baja. AF6C designed, and had printed 500 new QSL cards, and Bob worked the Chesterfield DXpedition 4 times! MEC didn’t light any bars on IXN’s rig tonite, and there was also noise on the band, and REB cud barely hear Clem. ETC will be Net Control for a planned program for homeless veterans over the weekend at the south hanger of the old ‘lighter-than-air base. IXN reminded AF6C that Cass, W6SQC, said he would NC the 10m Net now and then.

welcomed Arnie, N6HC, back from the Chesterfield Is. DXpedition, wid many Club OPs having worked the DXpedition! IXN was a ’lil weak at MEC’s QTH, but Clem was hearing all OPs tonite, and Clem listened to the Republican debate tonite. N6HC will give a Chesterfield DXpedition talk to the Club in January, and Arnie is on several club lists to speak abt the DXpedition…Now, Arnie is looking forward to the Templeton/Notre Dame FB game! AF6C said that Templeton is now in the top 25 teams! And, AF6C prepares for a visit from his sister from back East. PGH reported 10m wide open this morning! And, AF6C & PGH both worked Chesterfield DXpedition. IXN reports a nitrogen atmosphere on Pluto, and an ocean of water on Enceladus, a moon of Saturn. OML & AF6C reported no machines at Braille to be serviced…They had one machine that discharged shortly after being charged…Not finding a problem, they’ll send the Talking Book machine back to LA.

W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, KJ6OML, W6JTT, AF6C, KK6REB, KK6FYG, KK6KMM, KK6VNB, W6HHC/m, and KE6YHX. MEC cudn.t hear FYG too well, and Clem was on a Slim Jim ant, using 2 Watts tonite. OML said most problems wid new machines is charging batteries. HHC, mobile in Tustin, reported the Club has a complet slate of officers for next year…Congrats, OPs! Jtt is refurbishing to vintage radios, and Sam reported on a gud restaurant in La. (Clifton Restaurant, I think). And AF6C awaits the results of his yearly physical, and Bob got the Halloween decorations up. REB went target shooting wid his son, and Steve worked at the Command Center for the Orange County Standoff. FYG already has SA winds at the QTH, but tomorrow night we should all have them! And IXN & FYG briefly discussed the 5.7 event in Afghanistan. AF6C will help KMM, Ed, wid getting the TS-430 rig, that Ed got at the Club Auction, on the air on 10m. YNB ‘flew in and flew out’, and HHC/m checked in from the Tustin area wid FB 5/9 sigs at NC. YHX lit 5 bars at NC, but Corey’s audio was weak but audible. Corey is abt finished wid the truck but, is he ready for Halloween?
