No formal Net! IXN tuned to 28.375 MHz to hear WØMEC, Clem, and K6PAD, Phil, in a QSO. IXN did not have his antenna connected at Net’s time to begin. IXN thought another OP was on frequency but neither Clem or Phil confirmed another check-in.
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in KJ6OML, WØMEC, K6PAD, AF6C, AF6N, KK6REB, and KD6ZLV. IXN confirmed checkins on 10m tonite, and Bob will have cataract surgery come Mar. 29. OML said the Triumvirate took care of all the machines at Braille Institute last week…Gene lit up 4 bars on my rig using a HT and ‘Slim Jim’ antenna! MEC confirmed no other OPs on 10m but he and PAD. And PAD worked a special Superbowl station in Houston. AF6C has antenna damage from the last storms, and, like IXN, the 5th army of weeds is slowly advancing at the QTH!...Bob is working on a couple of Heathkits and having trouble finding the inexpensive old style can capacitors. V.Pres. AF6N checked in on a HT wid low audio while looking fer a ‘hot spot’, and KD6ZLV, Scott, also checked in on a Ht after getting home from work. REB says his son is back in Cypress College where he enjoys classes in the elevated classrooms.

Wid S5 sigs at NC’s QTH, MEC reported a beautiful afternoon, and JTT plans to replace UHF feedlines with low loss cable, and NC copied Sam tonite. IXN reported upcoming cataract surgery for his right eye, and YHX cudn’t read OML, and Gene missed Braille today. PAD cudn’t hear NC so MEC relayed for Phil who lit up 5 bars on IXN’s rig.

JTT continues to upgrade the shack as he plans to replace lead lines wid low loss cable. PAD welcomes a break in the wind & rain and looks forward to sunshine tomorrow! Rain forced AF6N to postpone house cleaning chores while the grandkids take up some of the spare time. TRC and ETC checked in on ECHOLINK, and TRC is saving big time on waater use wid the rain. ETC tnx YHX & IXN fer NC duties on the Nets and FYG reports 59 deg. in Rialto wid more rain on the way. MEC checks in on the HT using 4 ½ W on the new ‘Slim Jim’ antenna wid 5/9 sigs at NC. No braille for OML, but AF6C & DLA did minor service at the Institute today.
No Net! The QRN was horrendous. A number of OPs were on frequency but no communications were possible!
W6ZE/WB6IXN checked in WØMEC, K6PAD, W6ATB, KK6FYG, KE6YHX, KB6PAL, W6ETC, and KK6TRC. MEC also monitored the 10m frequency but heard no sigs, and all checkins on 2m had FB sigs! PAD reported 2 contacts on 17m and plans to work the 40m band. IXN’s old ears needed help from ATB to clarify the calls of some checkins, and PAL, on echolink in the auto, and ETC and TRC were all on echolink. ETC reminded OPs abt Friday nite’s Club meeting and ATB talked abt city cable TV of meetings. YHX is busy wid computer programming, and, FYG’s XYL now has her Tech License…We expect to hear her soon on the Net!...Congrats!
W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in WØMEC and WB6IXN. NC’s sigs were 5 by 9 at IXN’s QTH. MEC was on the 10m dipole tonite and had 3 by 5 at IXN’s QTH. IXN got his taxes over to the tax man and YHX reported weak sigs for IXN tonite. Most OPs must have been busy, or, the forgot about the Net!

AF6C says Heathkit now located in Northern CA., and Bob is having beam problems…He suspects bad elements…The beam has been up since 1969! YHX reported IXN had weak sigs on 10m, and Corey ahd no major problems from the recent storms. FYG will soon have a new vanity call, and Mike reported early morning fog in Rialto and very little rain with clouds in the sky. IXN missed last Club meeting!...The power went off abt 4:00pm on Fri. afternoon and was off until 5:30 am Sat. morning! REB reported rain last weekend, missed Club meeting, and the XYL went to a concert Fri. eve…Steve also had a ’lil rain. MEC reported 25 OPs at last Club meeting wid an interesting talk on microwaves.
