Clem MEC reads Net Control at an s5, and is running 2.6W into his Slim Jim. Jeff TRC started his Echolink Node. He also learned how to do crossband repeat on two of his radios recently. He is back from his house in Mexico for the weekend. Steve REB in Cypress receives Net Control better than ever, and is getting back to work after the Holidays. Tom ETC checks in via Jeff’s Echolink, and reminds us about the General Meeting this month. Jim AF6N says Happy New Year, and mentions the Board Meeting this Saturday. Sam JTT still needs to repair his antennas, and is waiting for his son to help with that. He is fixing up his antennas before the rain. Sam JTT is difficult copy for Corey, but Sam reads Phil loud and clear. Sam switches to a 40M dipole, and goes up to an s3.1 after the net. Gene OML reminds us of the fire and rains we had the past week. Sam JTT can’t read Net Control, so Clem relays. Sam had some damage to his 2M ground plane. Vijay IZO couldn’t hear anyone on 10M, and Corey YHX says the net lasted 8 minutes. Vijay reads Sam loud and clear for the first time. Will JKA is having problems with his garage addition, but got a good deal on an HF/2M/440 radio. Phil PAD fared the rain okay, and cleaned up an ant problem. Terrence AI6ZV got a new cobweb antenna, and contacted Finland on 20M Phone. Jeff TRC asks and Will confirms he is running a VOX mic. Jeff has Tom ETC on the side. Tom ETC is reclining with his cellphone on Echolink. Mike MAO in Rialto receives Corey YHX at 3 to 4 bars. Corey notes that he has two new radials on his Ringo Ranger. Mike reports he contacted South Africa on 40M as well as North Pole, Alaska on 20M. Jeff TRC asks what polarization he should set up his 2M Yagi. Greg says that it should be oriented vertically for local contacts. Terrence AI6ZV is looking forward to the meeting this Friday as well. Dave PAL says hello to the net from Huntington Beach. Phil PAD is running out ants from his Ham Shack.
