W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W0MEC, W6JTT, KK6YTT, and KI6IPH. Corey comes straight home from “El Presidente’s” house to host the Net. Clem MEC asks Net Control if he had a nice time at the Field Day Meeting. “Yes.” We will see who makes it home in time for the Net. Clem in Westminster receives N.C. in Orange at s5, and is running 40W with his KX-3 and Amp. N.C. reads Clem at s5.7. Net Control reads Sam JTT loud and clear, but Sam barely hears N.C. Sam is doing better with his “Siro” antenna, but he has more noise on receive. Net Control receives him much weaker when he is on his Vertical. Sam managed to replace his coax, and the antennas in Idyllwild need repair. Thank you, Clem for relaying. Corey reads Charlie YTT loud and clear also. Charlie is in Anaheim, and is running an Icom 756, and an inverted “V.” He didn’t mean to step on Clem, but Charlie receives N.C. just fine. Dennis IPH in Tustin is loud and clear. He has checked in before. Corey YHX is receiving each at s5.7, s1.2 to s4.8, s5.5, and s7.7, respectively. QRT 19:46 PDT

W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W0MEC, AI6ZV, W6JTT, AF6C, KM6IZO, KK6TRC/Echolink. Clem MEC copies Net Control and Bob loud and clear. Terrence ZV was about 20 minutes home from the Field Day Meeting. This is his first Field Day, and he looks forward to it. Vijay reads N.C. at s9+10dB. Sam JTT got up to Idyllwild, and found weather damage to 4 of his antennas. He repaired 3 of them and plans to replace the fourth with an Italian Dipole. At his local QTH in West Garden Grove, he found his Ground-Plane Radials need replacing. After that, he should be in good-shape on all bands. Corey talks to Bob AF6C about fuel for the Club generator. He will be bringing a 5-gallon jug as well. Bob copies all well but Clem, normally he comes in fine. Bob had a meeting with COAR yesterday about Baker-to-Vegas, and was busy into today. Vijay IZO says the Chinese Space Station came down in the Pacific Ocean. On another note, there will be two Falcon-9 rocket launches, one from California, one from Florida. Jeff TRC is on the line from Mexico. He is providing services to the San Felipe 250 Off-Road Race. Bob is familiar with San Felipe from his work in Yuma. Corey YHX is receiving each at s4, s7, s5, F.Q., s5, and s6, respectively. QRT 20:55 PDT

Net Control is running a Yaesu FT-840 barefoot, also a very basic radio. Corey and Dennis talk about CAT for a while. Tom ETC checks in via Echolink, thanks Jeff for the station, and Corey for Net Control. The NVIS Presentation is coming up on the 20th. Tom participated in Baker-to-Vegas for the first time, and operated NVIS, they were talking to Indiana! (a bit too far for Baker-to-Vegas). There are a couple members are going to the ARRL Dayton Hamvention, including Tom. Jeff TRC is a negative on going to Dayton, and offers his thanks to Net Control. No problem, Jeff. Sam JTT still needs to repair the 2m Ground Plane, it needs a couple radials, but Corey reads him with very low noise. Sam has a varying signal from Net Control. Vijay IZO receives Net Control with better signals tonight. Corey will help with Vijay’s antenna soon. Phil PAD is a negative on Dayton, but will see us at the meeting. He reads most of the stations well, and the two Echolink ones F.Q. Tim is a negative on Dayton. He is listening from Echolink also, a suggestion from Vijay, another use for internet radio! Tom reports of another station waiting on Echolink, but no one comes back, probably just a passing listener. Corey YHX reads each at s4, F.Q., s5-s6, s5-s6, s5-s6, s5, s6, and s7, respectively. QRT 20:50 PDT

Corey reads Nicholas full-copy with good audio. Nicholas hopes to see everyone at the meeting this Friday, and says 73. Jeff TRC has a high noise level. Net Control reads him with a fluttering signal, but gets the gist of what he is saying. Tom ETC is mobile in his driveway and Corey reads him loud and clear. He hears Nicholas weak, but well. W6ZE/KE6YHX checked in W0MEC, KJ6OML, AI6WV, KG6PTL, KM6IZO, W6JTT, and K6PAD. Clem MEC in Westminster is running 40W into a new vertical ground plane. Clem tries to reach Rodger, and does so successfully! He receives Net Control at s8-s9, Gene likewise, and hears Rodger at an s8-s9. Gene OML hears Net Control and Clem at an s+. Rodger WV is running 100W into a vertical with a couple Hamsticks as a ground plane. He has been busy tuning the antennas with a Yaesu mobile automatic antenna tuner. With area restrictions, Rodger has an HF antenna normally put on the roof of a vehicle, and the two quarter-wave whips as a half-wave dipole for a ground plane. It is a bit of a compromise, but it is tuned well and he is happy with it. He reads Corey at an s5, Gene at s9, and Clem is okay. Net Control reads strong signals. Greg PTL flew-in and flew-out. Vijay IZO hears Net Control loud and clear; he has a brewing and kegging project in the works. Corey plans some antenna work with him. Sam JTT can’t hear Net Control, but tries to check in anyway. Corey YHX got a new 2M/440 Diamond X-510HDM Antenna to replace his old Ringo Ranger from the mid-90’s today, and assembled and installed it this afternoon. Clem MEC reads Net Control 5 by 4, an s7. He hears Phil and his HT well. Vijay IZO is listening via Echolink; he reports on his brewing and kegging operation. Gene OML receives Net Control nice and clear, and all but those on Echolink. Tim TMT in Orange hears Clem right away, his antenna is up high enough now. He is listening via Echolink, as needed. Rodger WV can hear Net Control the best he has heard him, and hears Gene and Tim well. The other stations are fluttering. Tom ETC in Tustin, brings up an interesting anecdote, Art Bell, a supernatural/paranormal radio show host, is a ham operator! Thanks to Jeff for providing Echolink. Sam JTT still has antenna repair work ahead of him at his Idyllwild location. He replaced his coax with higher performance cable. Phil PAD is running a new Yaesu VX-7RB. Corey mentions that he has one, too. Phil has a roof antenna connected, and Net Control reads him good and steady. David PAL checks in late. Corey and Vijay went to 80m, 3.883MHz, and returned to 2M, no success yet with NVIS. Corey YHX reads the check-ins at s4, s5, F.Q., F.Q., s5, s5-s6, s5-s6, s5, and good signals, respectively.
